Jim Forrest and the Ad Libteam helped get this “Slow”
reminder in Mays Lane nearthe Pembury Road junction.
But many drivers still exceedthe speed limit on the blindbend here.
This endangers drivers tryingto pull out of Pembury Road. And it’s a nightmare forpedestrians - many of themelderly - trying to cross to andfrom the bus stops.
We’ll take this up again to try
to persuade the Council to offermore protection.
We’re also taking upresidents’ complaints aboutspeeding in Gosport Road.
And we’ll happily try to helpresidents in other areas nearsimilar traffic black spots.
SOME residents are concernedthat youngsters who gather atthe War Memorial are bringingtheir motorbikes in with them.
They’ve no complaint aboutthe kids’ behaviour. They justfeel using the memorial as abike shed isn’t very respectful, particularly with RemembranceDay approaching.
Parents - could you ensureyour teenagers have bikelocks, so they can leavemotorbikes safely in a moreappropriate place?
