Costs reduction
Costs reduction comes from the use of state of the art simulators specialized for Wind Turbine and for Wind Farm’s SCADAs and elearning material (tutorials).
With these simulators we can teach the behaviour of each subsystem in the Wind Turbine and SCADA, and we can reproduce their evolution under real conditions, such as:
•Extreme winds
•WindGusts
•Failures in the hydraulics systems
•Failures in the yawing system
•Failures in the grid
•High temperatures
•Overrun of the Drive Train
•Etc

Sources of Costs reduction
Costs reduction can be realized:
•As a reduction in the overall training time
•From a comprehensive understanding of the problems that
may arise
•Actual training on the “messages” and “commands” of the
Wind Turbine’s Controller
Our simulators can be a value-added tool for training with real components when used both previously and after that training.

Description
A Wind Turbine is a electrical plant in itself.Its Maintenance and Operation require a number of expertises:
1. Mechanical;
2. Aerodynamic;
3. Hydraulic;
4. Electricity;
5. Electronics;
6. Information Technology;
7. Most of the maintenance works must be done up in
the nacelle.

Description
The functionalities in the Control Center of a Wind Farm implements:
1. The Control of the Wind Turbines in the Farm (the actual production facilities)
2. Taking into account :1. The maintenance policies for the Wind Turbines and
additional equipment (substation, etc)2. The relationship with the customers and regulatory
agencies.
Therefore the personal operating these Control Centers must have experience with:
1. The structure, working operation and specific requirements for each type of wind turbine in the Farm.
2. The additional elements of the Farm: substation, STATCOM’s, etc.
3. The logistics implied by the maintenance policies.4. The contractual agreements with the customers and regulations
in place.

ACM SL’s WindFarmSimulator address these training needs using:
• Specialized Simulators• eLearning material (Tutorials)
Our Simulators are:• Based on realistic simulation of each
subsystem in the Wind Turbine• Aimed to show the behavior of each
subsystem and the whole system• Using photorealistic user interfaces

Target Personnel
Our material is targeted to train Maintenance and Operations of Wind Turbines and Wind Farm’s SCADA systems. Therefore the required technical background are:
For the Maintenance of Wind Turbines:● Basic Electricity● Basic Hydraulics
For the Wind Farm's SCADA Operations:● Operative of Wind Turbines● Maintenance concepts

Some characteristics
With the Simulator for Wind Turbines the trainees learn:
• Which are the subsystems inside a Wind Turbine
• How is the behaviour of each subsystem
• Effect of each parameter on each subsystem
• Evolution of internal signals
• Messages issued by the Controller upon record of
incidences.
• Troubleshoot a number of common problems (pitch
unadjustment, losses in the hydraulic system, problems in
the yawing system, problems with the anemometer, etc)

Some characteristics of our Simulators
ACM SL has developed a framework (LdP) and a methodology specific for this market:
• Based on Wired Configurations : the components of a given configuration are “wired” together (as an electric panel). As a result it is possible, while in execution, to “cut” a connection. I.e. it is possible to cut the wire connecting the Controller’s Pitch command value and the Nacelle Pitch Mover’s input to see the reaction of a “real” cable problem.
• Clear separation between the Human Machine Interface and the behavior of each subsystem
