INTRODUCTION
This is the acceptance test prepared for ADSL network installed in VNPT. The Acceptance Test Plan is a guide to evaluate the reliability, operability, functionality and performance of the Alcatel ISAM, and Speed Touch ATU-R.
The Acceptance Test also includes management, fault detection and provisioning capabilities of the network management station, ADSL Workstation System (AWS). This test is not a suitable replacement to educate users or to provide on-the-job training.
The procedures detailed in this test are performed on selected cards and ports in the IPDSLAM. The Acceptance Test will be carried out by at least one Alcatel engineer together with Customer engineer(s). The test setup is shown in Figure 1.

AWS Network Management
This section will test the ISAM management and configuration using the Alcatel AWS.
1. Fault Management Test
PurposeThis section provides instructions for fault management function test.
Test Equipment AWS workstation
One person available at ISAM side.
Procedure1. Login AWS.
2. Use 5523 AWS menu > Alarm Application to begin recording alarm events.
3. Plug out a LT board.
4. Check on the AWS. The relevant slot will show ‘ missing board ‘ when putting the mouse cursor over the LT board.
5. Go to Network Element List window > View > Show Alarm. There should be a major Equipment alarm.
6. Plug in the board. The AWS will show normal status at the slot. Equipment alarm should be cleared.
7. Take out either of the optical fibers from the NT card. The rack ‘ C ’ led will turn red.
8. On AWS check the relevant ISAM. The icon should turn red. That means the AWS lost the contact to this ISAM. Also there will be a red led on the rack top.
9. Put back the optical fiber. The alarm on ISAM rack top will be cleared.
10. Perform a remote reset on the LT and NT card.
2. Software Management Test
Purpose
This procedure tests the software management’s function of AWS.

Procedure1. Go to Configuration > Software > OSWP > Show Status to get the software package which is used
by present ISAM.
2. Use Configuration > Software > OSWP > Download to NE to download software package for ISAM.
3. Use Configuration > Software > OSWP > Active to active not active software package
4. Use Configuration > Software > OSWP >Commit to remove the useless software packages.
5. Record all the software available and the results of above tests.

3. System Configuration Management
Procedure
This Procedure tests the system configuration function of AWS.
Test Equipment AWS workstation.
Procedure1. From the top level (domain), zoom in the Area, ISAM, Subrack, etc. Check the hardware
configuration of each installed ISAM. Notice the ‘ Missing board ‘ and the ‘ Board Mismatch – xxxx detected‘ alarm if available.
2. Double click on the LT port to show ATM Termination and PPP Bridge Client Port
3. Highlight ATM Termination and choose Connection > Delete to delete 1 ATM Termination and PPP Bridge Client Port on the port.
4. Use Connection > Create > ATM Termination to recover the deleted ATM Termination. Verify that ATM Termination have been re-created.
5. Use Create PPP Client Port to recover the deleted PPP Client Port. Verify that PPP Client Port have been re-created.
6. Select a slot with LT board present. Use Board > Delete to delete the board on AWS.
7. The relevant slot should show ‘ Board Mismatch: NALT-C plugged but not planned ‘.
8. Use Board > Create to recover the right board.

4. Profile Management Test
PurposeThis procedure tests the profile management function of AWS.
Test equipment AWS workstation.
Procedure1. At Area level, select an ISAM icon and double click on it.
2. From the USM window (where the racks are shown), choose Configuration > Profiles > Show. That is the total profiles which can be used by the ISAM.
3. All profiles are local and has to be downloaded to ISAM. Go to Network Element List window.
4. To create a profile select Templates > Profile > Create. Choose the type of profiles that you want to create.
5. List all created profiles in table on Form 4.

5. User Login Test
PurposeThis procedure provides a test to list logged users and creating and deleting login user.
Test Equipment AWS workstation.
Procedure
1. Open Administration menu from main window
2. Choose Sessions > List Logged in users to show logged in user.
3. Choose Users > Create User to create user. You can choose different user profiles.
4. Exit and log out of CDE window.5. Login with the newly created user and start Network Elements Window.

6. ISAM Monitoring via CLI Craft Terminal
The objective of this test is to verify that alarms occurred on the ISAMs and card status can be displayed and monitored with Craft Terminal CLI commands. A PC with a serial console cable is needed to connect to the Craft port on the ISAM.
Procedure
1. Retrieve alarms on the ISAM and verify that alarm to be tested is empty.2. Remove a working LT card from the ISAM.3. Perform Show Equipment LT and verify that the affected slot is not plugged .4. Perform a show Alarm and verify that a Major – Board Missing alarm has occurred.5. The following procedure is for ISAMs configured with GE links. Remove a working GE link from
NANT-A card.6. Perform a retrieve port and verify that the affected GE is down (out of service).7. Remove all working GE links and verify that all GE are down.8. Retrieve alarm and verify that ISAM is isolated from the network.
