ABOUT LEHMAN COLLEGE
Lehman College is a senior college of The City University of New York offering more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Located on a beautiful and historic tree-lined campus in the northwest Bronx, the College is a cultural and recreational center for the region with its Center for the Performing Arts, Lehman College Art gallery, and The APEX, a major center for sports and recreation. DECLARATION OF A MAJOR OR MINOR
Undergraduates must declare a major prior to their 61st credit. Students who do not declare a major within the first four weeks of the semester lose their New York State TAP (Tuition Assistance Program) funding.
Undergraduates must declare their minors before the 80th credit.
The procedure for declaring a major or minor is to pick up the appropriate form in the Registrar’s Office (Shuster 106), obtain a signature from the appropriate department, and return the form to Shuster 106. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS & BUSINESS
The Department of Economics and Business offers B.A. and B.S. programs in accounting. The successful completion of the BS program, supplemented with the new requirements that became effective in Fall 2009, affords the student an opportunity to sit for the CPA examination approved by New York State Education Department.
B.A. IN ACCOUNTING
Completion of this major qualifies students for positions in private and public accounting.
Students selecting this major must complete the follow-ing credit requirements:
Required Courses (42 Credits)
• 6 in business economics: *BBA 168-169
• 30 in accounting: ACC 171-272, 334-335, 342, 348, 439-440, 441 and 442;
• 6 in business law: BBA 336-337 or 339-340
B.S. IN ACCOUNTING
Students wishing to approve the C.P.A. certification must complete the 67-credit B.S. in Accounting pro-gram. In order to earn the B.S. in Accounting, students have to complete a total of 120 credits, 60 of which will be in liberal arts. Seven out of 60 liberal arts credits must be taken in ENW 204 and MAT 174 or MAT 175.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
NOTE 1: In order to maintain matriculation in this major, the enrollees must maintain a minimum gPA of 2.7 (B-) in the first four ACC-prefixed courses they have taken at Lehman College. Students failing to attain a 2.7 cumulative index in these four courses will be dropped from the B.S. in Accounting program. However, these students may count the four ACC-prefixed courses toward a B.A. in Economics, a B.A in Accounting or a minor in Accounting, though cannot enroll in the B.B.A program.
NOTE 2: As of 1 August 2009, new requirements by the NYSED are in effect for candidates who wish to sit for the CPA Examination. The new requirements include 150 credit hours in a specific array of courses. Lehman College’s B.S. in Accounting, complemented by its M.S. Accounting program, collectively meet all these requirements. Students are advised to check the Lehman College
