A2 MEDIA STUDIES
Budget & Cast
BUDGET
As in many productions, a budget is most
important for the creation and maintenance of not
only the movie, but also the trailer.
Since this is a College project, there was no
budget, but between ourselves we decided we’d
spend a maximum of £50.
Props included the Witches Cape and make-up. We
only had three characters which highly benefitted
the stretch of the budget.
OUR EXPENSES
Cloak: £20
Make up included:• Foundation: £6• Eyeliner: £3• Eye Shadow Kit: £3.50• Red Lipstick: £4• Concealer: £3.50
TOTAL: £40
We are just under budget, therefore we saved some of our
own money.
WHO HAS WHAT?
WITCH: The witch was the character who perhaps used more make-up.
Despite the idea of sticking to a simple witch and not giving her the
traditional long nose, and warts etc. she had to look flawless. So she
applied the foundation for flawless skin, the bright red lipstick, and all the
eye make up. The smoky eye effect gave off a mysterious look which is
what we were aiming for.
HANSEL & GRETEL: As to make them look like simple young kids, we
decided that all they would have to do is wear simple clothes, and nothing
overly flashy. This allowed the audience to identify with their innocence
and allowed the audience to side with them against the witch.
CAST
The following cast had minimal experience in the
drama world, but we thought they would fit right in
to the characters we wanted.
HANSEL: Andre Rodrigues
GRETEL: Isabel Ribeiro
WITCH: Kareem Short
