THE MISSION BEHIND THE MUSIC While music education programs are being cut from public schools, Little Kids Rock transforms lives by restoring, expanding, and innovating music education in our schools. We provide music education to underserved schoolchildren across the country in grades K-12.
THE STORY BEHIND THE MISSION First-grade teacher, David Wish, innately understood that music transforms kids’ lives. Upon discovering the lack of a music program at his school, he began to o!er free guitar lessons to his students. His goal was to empower kids to immediately play the music they knew and loved. What began as one teacher’s e!ort to bring music instruction to a few dozen public school children, has since become a national movement of public school teachers who have enriched the lives of more than 500,000 schoolchildren through music education.
