Tele-TalkNEWSLETTER
TCT has once again been in nego a ons with local off air broadcast sta ons in Wichita and Topeka for the consent to retransmit their programing on TCTTV’s network. These nego a ons typically occur every 3 years and local broadcasters usually use the opportunity to increase the fees they charge local providers, per subscriber, to retransmit their programing. 2015-2018 will be no diff erent. TCT has seen local broadcasters substan ally (767-7653) increase the retransmission agreement fees they charge for you to be able to view their programing. Un l the broadcaster and TCT reach an agreement TCTTV is prohibited from carrying the broadcaster’s signal. Therefore, TCT’s only choice is to pay the increase or not off er the channel to our viewers.
TCT has nego ated in good faith to con nue to provide these sta ons to you at a reasonable rate. Unfortunately, some local broadcasters use the popularity of their programming as a reason not to nego ate agreements that are mutual benefi cial to you, the end user. Because of the dras c increases that TCT is experiencing you may see addi onal charges or changes to your monthly subscrip ons beginning January 1, 2015. It is important for TCTTV’s subscribers to understand that these fees are NOT determined by TCT, but rather by the broadcaster.
It is TCT’s mission to exceed the expecta ons of our customers through providing high quality, reliable, compe vely priced, services. That is why TCT will con nue to advocate for you in order to keep prices as low as possible.
