● Honors Math and English students are automatically signed up for 8th grade (Spring NWEA Scores are still used for placement)
Honors Science Criteria Honors Math Criteria - Level 4 on recent MSTEP Science - Ability to work at (or capable of working -Level 4 on recent MSTEP Reading approximately up one grade level Average grade of A- in prior Science class - NWEA – minimum 80th percentile - Teacher Recommendation
- Placement test – 60% or higher

Computer Education
• Innovation and Design I & II○ New courses teaching students to solve real world
problems using technology, working in teams with 3D printers, graphic software etc. to develop and pitch prototypes to end users.
• Coding I & II○ New courses teaching basic building
blocks programming languages (Python, HTML5 & Java Script) to develop and problem solve coding issues.
AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination)
● AVID is a program for students who demonstrate that they are capable of completing a rigorous curriculum of Honors level courses but are currently falling short of their potential.
● AVID is an elective class that is focused on writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization and reading to help students strengthen skills that are needed in high school and college. It is a one hour daily elective.
● AVID requires an application process by any interested 6 -8th grade student. This application is available on Parcells website and must be completed/signed and turned into Parcells main office by April 30th for consideration into the AVID elective.
