Dr. VIRENDRA MANI TIWARI is a Principal Scientist at CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad, who is

engaged in the measurement and modeling of gravity and magnetic data for the

investigation of Earth‘s structure and resources. His present research interests include

Lithospheric Configuration & Deformation of Converging Plate Margins and Water Mass

Variability Estimation from new generation of Satellite Data. Dr. Tiwari is graduated from

Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He was post doctoral fellow at IPGP, Paris

and LEGOS, CNES Toulouse France, Research Scientist at GEOMAR & CAU Kiel

Germany and Research Associate at University of Colorado, Boulder USA. He received

several awards and honours; IGU-Krishnan Gold Medal -2008, National Mineral Award-

2007, CSIR Young Scientist Award, 2003, UP-CST Young Scientist Award, 2001, INSA

MEDAL for Young Scientist, 2000, ONGC-AEG Best Ph.D. Award, 1999. He is Fellow of

Indian National Science Academy of India and Indian Geophysical Union. He is serving

in a number of National and International committees, like IUGG committee of

Membership, SCAR, Cambridge UK, INSA-IUGG/CODATA, New Delhi, MOES New

Delhi, Research Advisory Council of Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun

and in the Editorial boards of the Journals such as Himalayan Geology & J E.S.I.
