“This Youth Assembly offers a timely opportunity to learn from and inspire each other. I urge you to see your time here as a call to action.”- UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon
“Now I feel that I am not alone and change is possible.” - Anon., YA Participant
“If you saw the impact you have had on the youth (and young at heart) attending the Assembly you would have to shade your eyes from the brightness of hope. We applaud you for your good work. I send heartfelt thanks to you” - Paulette Schatz, UNDP Kabul-Afghanistan
"Simply Fabulous!, the youth assembly set the tone for a future set up for humanity. It was most amazing for me meeting youths of my age, who have done so much …." - Aduragbemi Ogunbanke, Nigeria
A Global Youth Leader Posts on Facebook:
“The Youth Assembly is about showing how one person can make a difference by engaging with the
challenges of the present and being an educated and active citizen.
“Last year, I came to the Youth Assembly at the United Nations with no agenda. It was humbling to be around young individuals,
all equally inspirational, devoted, and accomplished, each wanting to make a big difference in the world. Amongst me were
accomplished young individuals – and the one thing that I share with them is a passion to change the world. It is due to the
Youth Assembly at the UN that I will be enabled to pursue that passion even further.
“The International Youth Council would not be possible had it not been for your vision. I only wish nothing but success for The Youth
Assembly and your work at the United Nations.”
–– Esperanza Garcia, YA Workshop Leader and Youth Leader Participant: 2008 and 2009
(Director of Climate Change, International Youth Council, Philippines, 2010)
