and the only one which still exists. It is more than 4000 years old!
• Pyramid of pharaoh Cheops is the largest and oldest of the three pyramids in Giza. Egyptologist believe it´s a tomb.
• To complete the building in 20 years, people would have to move 12 stone blocks every hour - day and night.
• One stone block weights 2,5 - 15 tonnes( for example an elephant weights about 5 tonnes) and a whole pyramid weights 6 million tonnes!

Hanging Gardens of Babylon
• There were only 5 writers who described the Hanging Gardens. Nobody knows, where it was located. Gardens were built from bricks and stone blocks. There were used aqueducts and canals and a completely new invention, the water screw, to raise the water up to the top of the garden.
• Gardens were built for a queen and were placed in step terraces. The height of this building was about 40 metres.

Statue of Zeus at Olympia
• In town Olympia, where the tradition of Olympic Games started, was the Temple of Zeus, but without any sculpture of The God Zeus. So the Greek sculptor Phidias made the Statue of Zeus – a giant seated figure ( 13 m tall). He used gold panels and ivory plates, ebony, wood and stones. Unfortunately the statue was destroyed by fire. But parts of the temple still exist.
• Zeus was king of the gods of Mount Olympus, god of the sky, thunder, law … .
