and success, relationships, goals, finding your purpose, being yourself and many other topics.

What Makes These Quotes So Special?
The one fact that makes these 500+ quotes special is that they all speak the deepest truths in
the simplest possible language.
These quotes won't talk in circles. And they won't give you superficial bursts of motivation.
They all talk about really making your life better. Really having a better career. Really having
better relationships. Really figuring out why you're here on earth. Really being more
productive.
Each of these quotes is potent and powerful and we whole heartedly wish that they help YOU
in making your life better than ever before!
Who Is Steve Pavlina?
Steve Pavlina is a man who is intensely passionate about personal growth. He writes
regularly at stevepavlina.com (which gets 10 million visitors a month). He's also written a
book called Personal Development For Smart People.
The one fascinating fact about this man we respect is his intense passion for learning and self
improvement. While many "self help gurus" may teach others how to live life but hide facts
about their own personal life, Steve is open about his past (he was a kleptomaniac once), and
his present situation (he talked about his divorce publicly). He also writes about his own
challenges openly at stevepavlina.com.
We are thankful to Steve for writing all these wonderful words and also for un-copyrighting
his work and therefore allowing us to publish his best quotes.
Who Are We?
We're Meghashyam and Krupa, two personal growth enthusiasts (and a husband-wife team)
who happen to love Steve's quotes.
I (Meghashyam) also write about my own experiments at making life better at personal-
development-is-fun.com.
PS: We would love your comments/queries at meghashyam@personal-development-is-
fun.com. You can also keep in touch on Facebook and Twitter.

Push yourself to take in new input...
never previously experienced, and you will
become smarter. Read a new book, listen to a new
song, walk around a new location, meet a new
person, eat at a new restaurant, play a new
game, install new software – do something that
provides fresh, new input to your mind.

If you ever find yourself feeling demotivated
because of too many setbacks in a short period
of time, here’s a simple way to rebuild your
confidence and restore motivation: Switch to
smaller tasks you’re certain to achieve, and just
do those for a day or two. Put the big projects
off for a moment.

The problem may simply be that you
downright suck. But it’s OK to suck. Remember
this line from The Matrix:
“Everyone falls the first time.”
You just need to build your skill level.

If you really want to switch careers, step one is
to go to your current boss and say, ―I quit.‖ This
is a direct, guaranteed route to a career
change.

Are you doing your BEST? If you aren’t doing
your best, how can you shamelessly expect the
best in return? If you output mediocrity,
expect to receive that. That’s only fair, isn’t it?

If you can’t seem to hold a job, perhaps you’re
cursed with genius. One of the biggest quitters
of all was Leonardo da Vinci. I wonder if
his parents ever told him to stop flitting about
— painting, engineering, sculpture, botany,
anatomy, architecture, music, poetry, etc. –
and just stick with one thing.

I think those who feel that sex is wrong, dirty,
or immoral are terribly repressed. I’ve never
met a genuinely happy person that felt this
way about sex. Perhaps if such people just got
laid more often, they wouldn’t be so grumpy .

Any relationships that would reject you for
being true to yourself are — by definition —
abusive relationships. You’ll be much better off
when you let them go.
From the book PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR SMART PEOPLE
... the purpose of every relationship is to teach
you how to love yourself from the inside out.
When-ever you communicate with another
person, in truth you're exploring the depths of
your own consciousness because that's where all
your relationships exist.

You are the vehicle for service to others. There’s
nothing selfish about taking care of that
vehicle. You won’t be much good to others if
you can’t take care of your own needs.

If you don’t feel you can be honest with the rest
of the world just yet, at least begin by being
honest with yourself.

Use your own intelligence to figure out if
you’re on the right path. No matter how right
your decision is, there will be people to tell you
you’re wrong and that you’re making a big
mistake. Just allow those people to be upset, and
be on your merry way.

Hold your own memorial service at the end of
each day. Did you live this day to the fullest?
...Did you express the real you? Did you make
the effort to connect with people? Did you seize
this day, or did you let it slip through your
fingers?

If you eat meat but you’ve never personally
and deliberately killed and eaten an animal,
and you resist even making the attempt, does
that make you a chicken? Yeah...After all, if
your values support eating meat, then surely
they must support the most basic process that
makes it possible to eat meat...

If you don’t make a conscious choice... someone
else will decide for you. It may be your boss, a
family member, an advertiser, a collective
social influence, or someone or something else,
but it won’t be something of your deliberate
choosing.

Sometimes improving just one personality
attribute in yourself can 10x your income. For
many it's self-discipline or courage.

Moving from financial scarcity to financial
abundance is a process of getting past our limited
egos... scarcity is what you attract when you
focus on me, me, me — my needs, my problems,
my wants...abundance is what you attract when
you focus on we, we, we — our needs, our
challenges, our potential. The ego is too small a
container for wealth.

“Do what you love” is perhaps the most basic

productive when you do work you enjoy.

Take note of what you do each day that just isn’t that important. Where can you steal time from unimportant activities to be reassigned to more important ones? Can you delete watching some TV to add some extra reading? Can you delete superfluous web surfing to add more
thinking time?

Think about it — if you oversleep just 30
minutes a day, that’s 180+ hours a year. And
if you’re at 60 minutes a day, that’s 365 hours
a year, the equivalent of nine 40-hour
weeks. That’s a lot of time! Now I don’t know
about you, but I can think of more creative
things to do with that time than lying in bed...

Reviewing your goals once a month or once a
week is just too infrequent. I find I must review
my major goals every single day...Otherwise I
start getting too far off course, lured into
working on what’s merely important instead of
what’s wildly important.

If you don't have clear goals simply because
you don't know what you want, then sit down
and actively decide what you want. That sense
of knowing what you want isn't going to just
come to you in a form of divine inspiration.
Clarity is a choice, not an accident or a gift.

When Disney World finally opened, another
reporter commented to Walt's brother, Roy,
"It's too bad Walt did not live to see this." Roy
replied, "Walt saw it first. That’s why we are
seeing it now."

Spend time hanging out with the bravest people
you can find. When you do so, you’ll see that
they refuse to feed their fears. They spend much
more time feeding their desires. They’ve
learned how to use their power to create more
drive and passion instead of fear-based
hesitation.

pointing you to the areas where you need to
grow.

Do you share your true desires, or do you keep

How do you expect to manifest what you want
if you’re afraid to openly broadcast that you
want it? If you can’t broadcast your desires, it’s
fair to say you don’t own them yet.

The best intentions are clear and focused. Be
specific. If you want money, specify the exact
amount... General intentions have very little
power. Make your intentions like lasers instead
of candle flames, and you’ll see them manifest
much more quickly.
