Will take place under the tent RINGSIDE after ISCCC judging
Caring for Older Dogs & Their Breeders/Owners & Handlers
Anne Marie Kubacz and Debra Hamilton will present a Fun-Filled program on a very
important topic. Having bred & shown dogs and experiencing a few injuries & surgeries along the way, Anne Marie and Debra will share what they have learned to do to care for
older dogs and human bodies. This is a not to be missed program. They are not doctors,
and will not play ones at this lecture. They are survivors of devastating losses of young & old dogs, learning preservation techniques for their dogs and themselves,
which they will share. It is about proactively protecting older dog and human bodies
whether you are 21 or 51!! They will also have interactive exchanges with attendees to listen to what you are doing now to preserve your dogs' and your own good health.
Plan now for good health and longevity, for man and beast, in the future.

AKC National Owner‐Handled Series (NOHS) AKC National Owner- Handler Series is a non-titling competition created in direct response to Owner-
Handlers’ desire to compete against other Owner-Handlers. Owner-Handlers will still enter and compete in
the regular classes to win Best of Breed. Then, just before the regular class judging is complete, the
recognition of Owner-Handler Best of Breed will be awarded.
Determining Exhibitor Eligibility: The first step in judging the AKC National Owner-Handled
Series is determining exhibitor eligibility. Follow these tips to properly make the eligibility determination:
Exhibitors must declare their dog AKC National Owner-Handled Series eligible at
the time of entry using the check box on the entry form.

* Dogs declared eligible will be identified by an asterisk or other representative mark in the steward’s book
and in the show catalog.
* Professional handlers, household members and current assistants to professional handlers may not exhibit.
A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend.
* Dogs must be handled by an owner-handler eligible for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series
throughout the breed level competition for the regular show. This includes the class competition and
subsequent competition in the breed ring. Additionally, dogs must be handled by an eligible owner-handler for all AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition.
* The Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the eligible dogs that competed in the Best of
Breed/Variety competition for the regular show. This includes Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, and the
undefeated winners of the non-regular classes. This excludes all dogs defeated during class and winners
competition for the regular show.

Conformation Versatility Certificate Test
Versatility Certificate Tests (VC Tests) are offered in accordance with the Irish Setter
Club of America’s Versatility Certificate requirements. Dogs must be 12 months of age
or older to enter. Judging will be immediately after all other conformation classes are
completed.
A ribbon signifying PASS shall be awarded to those dogs that participate in these tests
and pass the test. (This is not an Official AKC event.)
Versatility judging is based on the breed standard which emphasizes the “make and fit
of all the parts” and overall balance. The judge shall determine whether the entry
reflects the qualities of a pure-bred Irish Setter.
