A Comparison of Concepts
1 Corinthians 8
2 If any man think that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.
3 But if any man loves God, the same is known of Him
4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols,we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth (as there begods many, and lords many)…
1 Corinthians 8:6

“When He closed His eyes in death upon the cross, the soul of Christ did not go at once to heaven, as many believe, or how could His words be true—”I am not yet ascended to my Father”? The spirit of Jesus slept in the tomb with His body, and did not wing its way to heaven, there to maintain a separate existence, and to look down upon the mourning disciples embalming the body from which it had taken flight. All that comprised the life and intelligence of Jesus remained with His body in the sepulcher; and when He came forth it was as a whole being; He did not have to summon His spirit from heaven…” 3SP p. 203, 204

A Modern Creed
The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are three separate and distinct individuals, but act together in perfect unity as a single monotheistic unit (the "Godhead") for the common purpose of saving mankind, Jesus Christ having received divine authority from the heavenly Father in his pre-incarnate life. The Father, Son, and Spirit form a "Divine Council" comprised of three separate though united "Divine Beings", making up one Godhead.
The Church of Latter-Day Saints
“All the unfallen beings are now united in regarding God's law as changeless. They support the government of Him, who, to redeem the transgressor, spared not His own Son. His law has been proved faultless. His government is forever secure. The Father, the Son, and ______ have been revealed in their true relation to one another. God has given unmistakable evidence of His justice and His love.”
Signs of the Times, August 27, 1902 par. 15

Ellen White and the word Trinity
• She never used the term Trinity or Triune.• She never used “God the Son”• She never used “God the Holy Spirit”• She never corrected those who taught
the literal begotten Son of God• Did she ever correct anyone who used the
term Trinity or Triune God?
John Harvey Kellogg• A.G.Daniels confronted him with objections to his
proposed book “The Living Temple”• “He [Kellogg] then stated that his former views
regarding the trinity had stood in his way of making a clear and absolutely correct statement”Letter to W.C.White, Oct 29, 1903 p. 12
John Harvey KelloggResonding to N. Wardner, a Seventh-day Baptist minister, summary of SDA beliefs
“We believe in but one Deity, God, who is a unity, not a compound being.”“We repel the charge of ‘trinitarianism’ without the slightest hesitation. We do not believe in a triune God, as before remarked.
Review and Herald, Nov. 25, 1880
John Harvey Kellogg• A.G.Daniels confronted him with objections to his
proposed book “The Living Temple”• “He [Kellogg] then stated that his former views
regarding the trinity had stood in his way of making a clear and absolutely correct statement; but that in a short time he had come to believe in the trinity and could now see pretty clearly where the difficulty was, and believed that he could clear the matter up satisfactorily.
He told me that he now believed in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost”Letter to W.C.White, Oct 29, 1903 p. 12
Ellen White• “The sentiments of those who are searching for
advanced scientific ideas are not to be trusted. Such representations as the following are made:
• ‘The Father is as the light invisible: the Son is as the light embodied; the Spirit is the light shed abroad.’
• ‘The Father is like the dew, invisible vapor; the Son is like the dew gathered in beauteous form; the Spirit is like the dew fallen to the seat of life.’ Special Testimonies Series B No. 7 p. 62 Nov. 1905
William Boardman“The Higher Christian Life” Part 2 Chp 1 pp. 201-203, 1858
• “The Father is as the light invisible. The Son is as the light embodied. The Spirit is as the light shed down.”
• “The Father is like the dew in invisible vapor. The Son is like the dew gathered in beauteous form. The Spirit is like the dew fallen to the seat of life.”
• Quoted virtually verbatim by Ellen White
William Boardman“The Higher Christian Life” Part 2 Chp 1 pp. 201-203, 1858
• “These likenings are all imperfect. They rather hide than illustrate the tri-personality of the one God, for they are not persons but things, poor and earthly at best, to represent the living personalities of the living God.”
• “They may also illustrate the truth that all the fullness of Him who filleth all in all, dwells in each person of the Triune God.
Ellen White• “All these spiritualistic representations are
simply nothingness. They are imperfect, untrue. They weaken and diminish the Majesty which no earthy likeness can be compared to. God cannot be compared with the things His hands have made. These are mere earthly things, suffering under the curse of God because of the sins of man. “ ibid
William Boardman• The Father is all the fullness of the Godhead
invisible.
Ellen White’s Correction• The Father is all the fullness of the Godhead
bodily, and is invisible to mortal sight.
William Boardman• The Son is all the fullness of the Godhead
manifested.
Ellen White’s Correction• The Son is all the fullness of the Godhead
manifested. The Word of God declares Him to be “the express image of His person.” “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son”… Here is shown the personality of the Father.
William Boardman• The Spirit is all the fullness of the Godhead
making manifest.
Ellen White’s Correction• The Comforter that Christ promised to send
after He ascended to heaven, is the Spirit in all the fullness of the Godhead, making manifest the power of divine grace to all who receive and believe in Christ as a personal Saviour.
• The Father is all the fullness of the Godhead• The Son is all the fullness of the Godhead• The Spirit is all the fullness of the Godhead
Ellen White’s Correction• The Father is all the fullness of the Godhead• The Son is all the fullness of the Godhead• The Comforter…is the Spirit in all the fullness
William Boardman• The persons are not mere offices, or modes of
revelation, but living persons of the living God.
Ellen White’s Correction• These are the living three personalities of the
heavenly trio…
There are three living persons of the heavenly trio. In the name of these three powers,--the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, those who receive Christ by living faith are baptized, and these powers will cooperate with the obedient subjects of heaven…Ellen G. White: Bible Training School, March 1, 1906
