WELCOME MESSAGEPRESIDENT OF THE MALAYSIAN ORTHOPAEDIC ASSOCIATION (MOA)
Greetings from Kuching, Sarawak, The Land of The Hornbills.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite all of you to our next conjoint MOA-AOA meeting in Kuching from the 5th to the 8th of June 2013. Our theme will be ‘The Arthritic Joint’.
This will be a cross platform meeting. Apart from Orthopaedics, we will have contributions from Rheumatologists, Rehabilitation Medicine Physicians and Orthopaedic Physiotherapists.
I also hope that you will be able to enjoy the splendor of Sarawak with its multi ethnic cultures, beautiful landscape and other attractions while in Kuching. This conference in the southern tip of Borneo shall be a meeting place for old and new acquaintances. I am looking forward to seeing all of you, so, mark your calendar.
Thank you.
Regards,
Dr. Faris Kamaruddin
President of Malaysian Orthopaedic Association
PRESIDENT OF THE ASEAN ORTHOPAEDIC ASSOCIATION (AOA)
On behalf of the Asean Orthopaedic Association, I extend my gratitude to the Malaysian Orthopaedic Association for hosting the 2013 MOA – AOA Combined Meeting and it is in June 2013 !
This will be a good opportunity for orthopaedic surgeons from the ASEAN region to attend, since I believe, the least likely this will coincide with any ASEAN member country’s annual meeting.
As most of you know, the AOA has been organising programs such as the annual meeting, AOA junior and senior travelling fellows or the American-AOA travelling fellow for many years, but in the last few years, the AOA has embarked on programs such as the Outreach Program, and also further extending the travelling fellowship program to Australia. All of these were possible because the AOA has the support of each member country and also these programs, in return, broadens the view of orthopaedic surgeons in the way the ASEAN spirit does. You can pass on your bright ideas through your AOA representatives, and I will be more than happy to discuss it in the AOA Business Meeting in Kuching.
The scientific meeting will be as interesting as Kuching itself. As Sarawak is in Borneo, surely it will be very excit-ing to explore as any other places in Borneo that I have visited.
So, prepare your time to take advantage of anything that Kuching can offer!
I look forward to seeing you in Kuching !
