(2Ki 17:41) So these nations feared the
LORD, and served their graven images, both
their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do
they unto this day.

(2Ki 17:27-28) Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying,
Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence;
and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the
manner of the God of the land. Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in
Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.
(Isa 29:13) Wherefore the Lord said,
Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and
with their lips do honour me, but have
removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is
taught by the precept of men:
(Pro 1:7) The fear of the
LORD is the beginning of
knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
(Ecc 12:13) Let us hear the
conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and
keep his commandments:
for this is the whole duty of
man.
(Pro 28:9) He that turneth away
his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer
shall be abomination.
(Jos 24:14) Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve
him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods
which your fathers served on the other
side of the flood, and in Egypt; and
serve ye the LORD.

(2Ki 17:29-33) Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had
made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt. And the men of Babylon made
Succothbenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima, And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim. So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places. They feared the LORD, and served their own gods,
after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.

(1Jn 2:15) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If
any man love the world, the love of the Father is
not in him.
(1Jn 2:16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the
eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is
of the world.

(Exo 34:7) Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and
transgression and sin, and that will by no means
clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and
upon the children's children, unto the third
and to the fourth generation.
(Pro 20:7) The just man walketh in his integrity: his
children are blessed after him.
