PORCH REFURBISHMENT APPEALHere is some more information about what we would like to do:

PlumbingRemove the radiator from under the window as it leaks. We also need to repair the window as it also leaks.

PlasteringThe leaky window has caused the plaster below it to burst. The walls are full of holes and damp. All will be re-plastered.

PaintingThe ceiling will be painted off white to lighten up the porch. Walls will be painted (not Magnolia!)

DisplayWe would like to have more accessible display boards that everyone can get up close to and read easily. We also want to have a special board as a memorial to those who have passed away during the year. We would like to display their Orders of Service.

DoorsBy far the most expensive part of the plan which will be last on the list of priorities as the purpose is for beautification of the entrance into our stunning church rather than health & safety. We would like the inside entrance to be glass doors so that, from the porch, the view into the church is unimpeded and the full beauty of the aisle and sanctuary can be appreciated. These doors would need to be a disabled access with the possibility of glass etching depicting our parish motif (see top of newsletter)

The Pope Answers Letters from ChildrenDear Pope Francis,Where is your favourite place to pray and why? From Josephine (Age 8 United Kingdom)

Dear JosephineYou know I like to pray everywhere. I can even pray at my desk or in my armchair in the living room. Many times in the evening I’m tired so I don’t go down to the chapelBut stay in my room and pray. I love to be in church in front of the Most Blessed Sacrament. I do that often. I very much like to go there and sit in silence before God.. But I can also pray while walking, or even when I go to the dentist. I find God everywhere.
