WANT SOME TIPS?

Write alongside your students! This willhelp motivate them, plus we want toread teachers’ writing too.Carve out some time in the school dayto do the challenge. You’ll need to allowfor 7 minutes for your students to write, but you might also want to allow fortime to explain the task, to watch somevideos for inspiration (like watchingMark Haddon or Frank Cottrell-Boyceexplaining the activity) or talk throughsome ideas. A paper and pen are all that is needed! If you’d like to print off a #247Challengeactivity sheet (which explains the task)you can find that here.

(If you’re setting the task for remotelearning, attach the #247Challenge activitysheet and simply ask students to send theirwriting to you.)

We want to get EVERYONE writingcreatively for National Writing Day 24thJune 2020 so we’ve created the#247challenge – a quick, fun and easychallenge to get your students’ creativecogs turning! The challenge has three simple rules:1. Write a story or poem in 24 words.2. Start with the words ‘One day’.3. You only have 7 minutes to write!

We would love for you to share your workon National Writing Day using the hashtag#247challenge and #NationalWritingDay.

We want as many 24/7 stories or poemsout in the world as possible, because webelieve that writing is fun, it makes youfeel good, and it’s important for everyoneto have a chance to express themselves.
