SAP Note

Header Data

Symptom

There will be no change to daylight saving time in Chile from year 2015 onwards. Instead of turning the clocks back one hour on Sunday, April 26, 2015 as previously planned, the Chilean Government has decided to make no further changes to the clock in future years. That means the relevant time zones are now permanently moved one hour earlier in comparison to UTC.

Other Terms

Daylight saving time, DST, TTZZ

Reason and Prerequisites

This is a legal change in Chile.

Solution

To set the time shift by one hour permanently for Chile time zones, you must make the following changes to the Chile time zones: You must change the time zone rule to a time zone rule that has one extra hour difference and then set the daylight saving time rule from CHILE to NONE (no daylight saving time). The new settings for all Chile time zones are listed below. You can make these settings in transaction STZBC or in the standard IMG at "SAP NetWeaver -> General settings -> Time Zones -> Maintain Time Zones" (in the "Time Zones" dialog for each one).

The changes are contained in the data file of Note 198411 as of Version TZ_2015_V04.zip.
