CONSTRUCTION:1. Work within, and adjacent to, the Highway. Appropriate traffic management for all work carried outwithin or adjacent to the live highway.2. Deep excavations and work in confined spaces during the installation and modification of drainagesystems.3. Existing utility diversions will be required. Some utility routes are of strategic network importance4. Mitigate impact damage and undemining of structures/foundation(eg Network Rail structures).5. The Contractor will be responsible for managing all earthworks operations(inclusiveaccess/egress/level variations/removal of obstructions plus potential for contam & ordnance).6.Tree felling to be undertaken by suitably qualified tree surgeon.7. Deep excavations and the use of appropriate trench shoring.8. Work within and adjacent the river channels.9. The 1800mm TW sewer is understood to be generally at 3/4 bore.10. The Contractor shall be aware of the high volume of vehicular and pedestrian movement withinthe site.
MAINTENANCE / CLEANING:1. Deep excavations and work in confined spaces during the maintenance and modification ofdrainage systems.2. Maintenance within the highway will require appropriate traffic management.3. Bridge inspections and maintenance shall be cognisant of the hazards associated with workingclose to water.
DECOMMISSIONING / DEMOLITION:1. Deep excavations and work in confined spaces during the removal of drainage systems.2. Structural stability of existing structures.3. Inundation of excavations from the Ravensbourne and Quaggy
It is assumed that all works will be carried out by a competent contractor working, where appropriate, to an approvedmethod statement
