READY
The State of the Region event is attended by approximately 800 of the region’s business and community leaders, who convene to hear and share insight on the economic vitality of our region. This event is held annually with the intent to provide information that will open dialogue about our region’s growth and future prosperity.
Since last year’s event, RTRP led successful marketing trips both nationally and internationally. The organization participated in site-selection conferences and hosted international delegations. Additionally, RTRP organized a first-of-its-kind, regional business task force to bolster the Triangle’s bid for Amazon’s HQ2 project. These efforts have provided tremendous insight into where the region stands competitively and what challenges must be addressed as the region continues going after bids.
The 2018 event will highlight the region’s strengths, and dissect the challenges we need to address to make our region more competitive. In addition, we will hear from speakers and panelists who will highlight how we, as a region, can leverage the existing and naturally occurring influx of life-science companies to facilitate economic growth and justify infrastructural improvements to prepare for more diversified expansion in the future. It’s time to Ready the Region!

The video begins with someone who has deep experience, having seen the transformation over the years. Then hear from a local start up, and a more established business looking to expand into the region. The video contrasts this viewpoint with that of a young student, who can help shed light on the needs and desires of the up-and-coming workforce. Through these personal stories from those in the workforce, the Closing Video will highlight the diversity the region has achieved across gender, race, age and background.
Impact videos are 90-second, moving infographics that highlight the impact of the life sciences industry in areas like agriculture, manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and healthcare. The data will be presented on screen while the video sponsor is featured, speaking as a subject matter expert. Topic selected per sponsor.
