Welcome to the
2015 Rugby World Cup
#HomeGroundAdvantage Team South Africa welcomes you to the UK
Inspiring new ways
2
High Commissioner His Excellency Obed Mlaba
1
On behalf of the High Commission in the UK and
Ireland I am delighted to welcome the South African
National Rugby Team to London as they prepare to
participate in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
To the Springbok squad, know that you have what
it takes to win this one. As a rugby mad nation we
are already enormously proud of you. We are
behind you 100% as the game of rugby continues
to bring hope, inspiration and unity to millions as
one of the most widely followed sports in South
Africa.
The grit and pure determination of the Springboks
on the field has a big impact on South Africa’s
national identity. The huge populations of the rugby
loving nations of the world recognize and admire
good sportsmanship, and the graciousness with
which victory or defeat is accepted.
2
Young South Africans look up to our 2015 squad
as their sports heroes, and I think it’s wonderful
that the Boks are showing our young people that
relentless hard work, discipline and commitment to
one’s dream is rewarded a thousand fold.
I am calling upon all the South Africans living in the
UK and the legion of patriotic fans travelling to the
UK to support our team, to show the love and the
“gees”, and to loudly rally behind the Springboks as
they make us proud.
To the squad, it is my dearest hope that you will
continue to go from strength to strength and
continue to be a shining light in the international
sporting arena and the eventual winners of the
2015 World Cup.
We salute you our Springboks, and we wish you
luck.

Welcome
Team South Africa in the UK
Team South Africa welcomes all visitors coming to the United Kingdom for the Rugby World Cup, especially the South African Rugby
team, the management and staff, and all the fans that have traveled such a long way to support South Africa and to fly the flag proudly
in all the cities and towns across the UK.
Team South Africa is an integrated approach to ensure synergy and collaboration between South African entities in the United
Kingdom.
It emanates from the recognition that we are one nation and as a result carry one identity as a country. Members of Team South Africa
in the United Kingdom consist of the South African High Commission, Brand South Africa, South African Tourism, the national carrier
South African Airways, Wines of South Africa and Eskom. Representatives of each of the entities meet to identify ways of working
together for the benefit of South Africa.
Every member of Team South Africa in the UK will be available for the duration of the Rugby World Cup Season to assist with the
needs of South Africans in the UK and those UK citizens who want to find out more about South Africa and its offering.
We wish the Springboks the best of luck for the tournament. Team South Africa is behind you all the way.
