Your support made a difference in the lives of animals in our care.
For the 6th consecutive year, Placer SPCA has been awarded four stars by Charity Navigator. Only 3% of nonprofits evaluated nationwide receive this exceptional rating 6 years in a row.
Since it’s opening in March 2011, Placer SPCA’s Auburn Pet Adoption and Resource Center has adopted more than 350 animals into loving forever homes. In 2012, 182 animals were adopted from Placer
SPCA’s Auburn Pet Adoption and Resource Center.
The Placer SPCA’s Thrift Store continues to be a very successful revenue generator since its opening in August 2010. This year more than $250,000 was realized through this effort.
In 2012, the Placer SPCA Thrift Store was named “Best Thrift Store,” by readers of the Roseville Press Tribune.
In 2012, we began meeting with architects to discuss designs for the future home of the Placer SPCA Animal Care
and Adoption Center. We are thrilled to have taken this very necessary step in expanding our building capacity to meet the demands of our community.
The Placer SPCA was chosen, “Favorite Charitable Organization,” and “Favorite Place to Volunteer,” by the readers of Style Magazine in the 2012 Readers’ Choice Poll.
Guardian Angel Animals Treated
In 2012, the Placer SPCA treated 1,539 animals through our
Guardian Angel Program, a 24% increase from 2011. Funds
donated to the Guardian Angel Program helped provide general
and specialized medical treatment for animals in our care.
The Guardian Angel Program helped
Jesse, whose back was badly broken
when she arrived. at Placer SPCA.
Spay and Neuter Assistance 2012 was a record year for Placer SPCA’s Spay and Neuter
Assistance Program (SNAP). 1,500 Placer County residents redeemed
spay and neuter vouchers for their bully breeds and cats in 2012. This
achievement has brought us closer to our goal of ensuring that every
adoptable companion animal has a loving home.
Lost Animals Reunited
We set a record this year, by helping 560 lost animals find their
way home. The Placer SPCA strongly advises that all dogs and
cats be microchipped, and offers microchip implants during all
business hours.
Lexi was one of the 560
animals that found her way
home in 2012.
Dr. Jones, Director of Veterinary Services,
performed spay and neuter surgeries in
2012 for Placer SPCA’s Spay and Neuter
Assistance Program (SNAP).
