Key services are explained in detail,along with an outline of scheduled maintenance to help you maintain yourvehicle. If you have an accident, insist on Genuine Infiniti Collision Parts. If youwant your vehicle to be restored using parts made to Infiniti’s originalexacting specifications – if you want it to last, help to protect your per-sonal safety and to help hold its resale value, the solution is simple. Tellyour insurance agent and your repair shop to use only Genuine InfinitiCollision Parts.

Many non-genuine parts are copies made from impressions of Infinitiparts and may not match the specifications and performance standardsof Genuine Infiniti Parts. As a result, non-genuine parts may not look orfit right, and may be less safe.

The hood on your vehicle is a good example. Infiniti designed it withhood buckling creases to help prevent the hood from penetrating theinterior of your vehicle in an accident. Non-genuine parts may not pro-vide such built-in safeguards.

In some states, the law says you must be advised if non-genuine partsare used to repair your vehicle. Why should you take a chance?

DETERMINING THE PROPER MAINTENANCE INTERVAL

PREMIUM MAINTENANCE* (Every 3,750miles or 3 months, whichever comes first)

Premium Maintenance is an Infiniti-recommended option that is suitable forall driving habits and local conditions.Infiniti developed Premium Maintenancefor owners who want the ultimate inpreventative maintenance. With PremiumMaintenance, more maintenance items areregularly checked or replaced than witheither Schedule 1 or Schedule 2maintenance schedules.

Using the Premium Maintenance schedulemay optimize the performance, reliability,and resale value of your vehicle.

Depending on your driving habits and local conditions, you should follow one of the three maintenance schedules listed below.Use these guidelines to determine which maintenance schedule to use:

SCHEDULE 1 (Every 3,750 miles or3 months, whichever comes first)

Schedule 1 features the same 3,750-mileservice intervals as Premium Maintenance;however, with Schedule 1 fewer maintenanceitems are regularly checked or replaced thanwith the Premium Maintenance schedule. UseSchedule 1 if you primarily operate your vehicleunder any of these conditions:

• Repeated short trips of less than 5 miles innormal temperatures or less than 10 miles infreezing temperatures

• Stop-and-go traffic in hot weather or low-speed driving for long distances

• Driving in dusty conditions or on rough,muddy, or salt-spread roads

• Towing a trailer, or using a camperor car-top carrier

SCHEDULE 2 (Every 7,500 miles or 6months, whichever comes first)

Schedule 2 features 7,500-mileservice intervals; with Schedule 2fewer maintenance items are regularlychecked or replaced than withSchedule 1.

Generally, Schedule 2 applies only tohighway driving in temperateconditions. Use Schedule 2 only if youprimarily operate your vehicle underconditions other than those listed inSchedule 1.

* Premium Maintenance is an Infiniti-recommendedoption; however, owners need not perform suchmaintenance in order to maintain the warranties whichcome with their Infiniti.

EXPLANATION OF SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE ITEMS

The following descriptions are providedto give you a better understanding of thescheduled maintenance items thatshould be regularly checked or replaced.The maintenance log indicates at whichmileage/time intervals each itemrequires service.

In addition to scheduled maintenance,your Infiniti requires that some items bechecked during normal day-to-dayoperation. You can find these itemslisted under “General Maintenance” inChapter 8 of your Owner’s manual.

Items marked with “*” are recommend-ed by Infiniti for reliable vehicle opera-tion. You are not required to performsuch maintenance in order to maintainthe emission warranty or manufacturerrecall liability. Other maintenance itemsand intervals are required.

When applicable, additionalinformation can be found in the “Do-it-yourself” section in Chapter 8 of yourOwner’s Manual.

For recommended fuel, lubricants,fluids, grease, and refrigerant refer toChapter 9 in your Owner’s Manual.

Emission Control SystemMaintenance:Drive Belts*

Check engine drive belts for wear, fray-ing or cracking and for proper tension.Replace any damaged drive belts.

Engine Air Filter

Replace at specified intervals. Whendriving for prolonged periods in dustyconditions, check/replace the filtermore frequently.

Engine Coolant*

Drain and flush the cooling system atthe specified interval.

Engine Oil and Oil Filter

Replace engine oil and oil filter at thespecified intervals. For recommendedoil grade and viscosity refer toChapter 9 in your Owner’s Manual.

Engine Valve Clearance*

Inspect only if valve noise increases.Adjust valve clearance if necessary.

Evaporative Emissions ControlVapor Lines*

Check vapor lines and connectionsfor leaks or looseness. Tightenconnections or replace parts asnecessary.

Fuel FilterMaintenance-free item (In-tank type filter).Fuel Lines*Check the fuel hoses, piping and con-nections for leaks, looseness, or deterio-ration. Tighten connections or replaceparts as necessary.

Spark PlugsReplace at specified intervals. Installnew plugs of the same type as originallyequipped.

Chassis and Body Maintenance:Brake Lines and CablesVisually inspect for proper installation.Check for chafing, cracks, deterioration,and signs of leaking. Replace any deteri-orated or damaged parts immediately.

Brake Light and Cruise Control SwitchesInspect the clearance between the brakepedal and the switches.

Brake Calipers, Pads, RotorsCheck for wear, deterioration and fluidleaks. Replace any deteriorated or dam-aged parts immediately.

Climate Controlled Seat FilterReplace at specified intervals(M45/M35/FX50/FX35/G37 Convertible,if so equipped).

Exhaust SystemVisually inspect the exhaust pipes,muffler and hangers for leaks, cracks,deterioration, and damage. Tightenconnections or replace parts asnecessary.

In-Cabin MicrofilterReplace at specified intervals. Whendriving for prolonged periods in dustyconditions, replace the filter morefrequently.

Propeller Shaft(s)Check for damage, looseness, and greaseleakage (4WD/AWD).

Steering Gear and Linkage, Axle andSuspension Parts, Drive Shaft BootsCheck for damage, looseness, and leakageof oil or grease. Under severe driving con-ditions, inspect more frequently.

Tire RotationTires should be rotated every 7,500 milesaccording to the instructions in theOwner’s Manual (except G37 Sedan 2WDSport, G37 Coupe 2WD Sport and G37Convertible). When rotating tires, checkfor damage and uneven wear. Replace ifnecessary.

Transmission Fluid – Automatic orManual, Differential Oil, Transfer Case OilVisually inspect for signs of leakage atspecified intervals. If towing a trailer,using a camper or car–top carrier, or driv-ing on rough or muddy roads, replace thetransmission fluid/oil at every 30,000miles or 24 months (except 7-speed auto-matic transmission).

Check the following items more frequently after driving off-road through deep sand, mud or water:

• Brake pads and rotors

• Brake lines and hoses

• Differential oil, transmission fluid, and transfer case oil

• Steering linkage

• Propeller shafts and drive shafts

• Engine air filter

• In-cabin microfilter

OFF-ROAD MAINTENANCE (QX56 ONLY)

The following Maintenance Log has beencompiled by Infiniti to assist you in performingthe recommended maintenance services andkeeping appropriate records of servicesperformed. Along with the related repairinvoices, receipts, and other such records, aproperly documented maintenance historycould enhance the value of your vehicle shouldyou ever wish to sell it. The services listedrepresent the minimal factory recommendedrequirements for each time/mileage interval,up to 120,000 miles / 96 months.
