Welcome to the 2009 Flames Club The Flames Club soared to new heights along with the Liberty Flames Athletics program in 2008. The Flames won a total of 10 team championships in the 2007-08 season and reclaimed the Sasser Cup as the Big South Conference’s top athletics program. Our football team won a record 10 games and their second-consecutive conference championship. Our men’s basketball team exceeded 20 wins for the first time in 12 years. The Flames Club also set new records in 2008, with all-time highs reached in total members and dollars contributed.

History of the Flames Club TheFlamesClubbeganin1979astheTalonClubtoprovidefinancialsupportforwhatwasthenLibertyBaptistCollegeAthletics.TheorganizationlaterchangeditsnametotheLUAthletic Association(LUAA),beforefinallybecomingknownastheFlamesClubin2002.TheFlamesKidsClub(FKC)wasformedin2004fortheyoungestofFlamesfans,andtheStudentFlamesClub(SFC)wasestablishedforLibertystudentsin2006.TheentireFlamesClubsetnewrecordsin2008withover1,500memberscontributingnearly$400,000totheAnnualFund.Newfor2009istheVarsityFlamesClub(VFC),whichisspecificallyorganizedforformerLibertyStudentAthletes.
Mission of the Flames ClubTheFlamesClubisintegraltothesuccessofLibertyUniversityAthleticsandisthechannelthrough which our fans and alumni can partner with our coaches and student-athletes for the advancementoftheathleticsprogram.Withtheever-increasingcostofcompetingattheDivisionI level, a dynamic booster club is critical to putting the strongest possible teams on the field and court.ThemissionoftheFlamesClubistoraisefinancialsupportforLibertyUniversityAthleticsand to ensure that our coaches and student-athletes have everything they need to compete for national championships. Loyalty point System TheFlamesClubLoyaltyPointSystemrewardssupportersofLibertyAthleticswiththebestseatsandparkingprivilegesinafairandobjectivemannerthatrecognizeshistory,loyaltyanddollarscontributed.Pointsareawardedannuallyfordollarscontributed,consecutiveyearsofmembership,consecutiveyearsofbuyingseasontickets,andforreferringnewmembers.Memberswillreceivean overall ranking based on loyalty points. Seats and parking will be assigned in priority order, basedon1)membershiplevel,startingwithScholarship,and2)pointtotalwithineachmembershiplevel. The same priority will apply for away games and postseason playoffs or tournaments. Since recordsareincompletefordollarscontributedpriorto2005,15pointswereawardedtoevery-oneforwhomthereisarecordofagiftmadein2004orearlier.Pointsforconsecutiveyearsofmembershipbeginwith2005,whilepointsforconsecutiveyearsofseasonticketpurchasesbeginwiththe2006-07season.DollarscontributedtotheAnnualFundinthecurrentyear(2009)count50%morethandollarscontributedinpreviousyears.Capitalgiftdollarsreceivedoublepoints,butdonotcounttowardmembershiplevel.Referralpointsarebaseduponthelevelforwhichthenewmemberjoins,andthenewmembermustlistthereferringmemberonthemembershipform.
