Crewexcavatestofreecableembeddedinground.Asexpected,the90ºbendclosetotheexitpitcausedthecableto“cutthecorner”andsliceintocompactedsoiloutsidethesewer’spath.Maximumhydraulicpressures

wereappliedandwaterwasintroducedtotheline,butthecornerwastooabruptandtoofarfromtheentry.

Withinafewfeetoftheresistanceplate,thecablehasalreadybrokenoutsideclaysewer.Asmorehydraulicpressurewasapplied,thecableonlycutfurtheroutsidethesewerpath,intothecornerandunderthetree,while
