DUAL PROGRAM
The Benefits of Reading
Reading is not an ability that we acquire in the first grades
of schooling. It needs be constantly trained and perfected.
In addition to the many benefits that reading will have upon
your child's mind, it goes without saying that the more you
read, the more words you gain exposure to, and they’ll inevitably make their way
into your everyday vocabulary. Being articulate and well-spoken is of great help in
any profession, and knowing that you can speak to higher-ups with self-confidence
can be an enormous boost to your self-esteem. It will aid in your child’s career, as
those who are well-read, well-spoken, and knowledgeable on a variety of topics
tend to get promotions more quickly (and more often) than those with smaller
vocabularies and lack of awareness of literature, scientific breakthroughs, and
global events.
This is just to remind you that your child should get half an hour reading
everyday in order to meet his learning and language needs.
“It takes courage to grow up and
become who you really are”

First quarter is
over!
The first nine weeks of 6th grade are now over and we hope you have already noticed the first changes and learning hints in
your child.
New words, new books, new friends and a whole new world
to explore!
Quarter 1 Newsletter
Your children’s teachers’ message
The first quarter is gone and with it, all the insecurity and doubts that comes with
the change of school; this not at all smooth transition from having sweet
elementary school children to the after summer surprise that your children are now
middle schoolers with a new life expecting them. We will continue trying to help
them and guide them into this new learning experience and collaborate with
families in this process.
We all know that growing up can be hard sometimes by having to cope with never
ending emotional readjustments in addition to school work and reading! We want to
acknowledge the effort that it takes for this kids to get the job done and encourage
them to keep up the good work!. We have set very high expectations for our Dual
language students because we know how much these kids are worth and how
much it will pay off in the future.
Many thanks to our Dual language families for all your support to the program and
school life. Mrs. Salguero
