ALBION Park High Schoolhas always supported manycharities includingBandanna Day, The BushFire Appeal, The Year 8Fun Run supporting CampQuality, the 40 HourFamine, Wrapped withLove and Relay for Life.

In both 2012 and 2013,Albion Park High School’syear 8 participated in a funrun.

This year the fun run wasthemed bright colours andsportswear, which led tohigher student involve-ment.

Doing multiple activitiesduring this event made itinteresting and fun.

The year 8 cohort areproud of the money thatthey have raised and evenhad the privilege of gettingthe school’s name on thePeople’s Truck in the recentCamp Quality Convoy.

With the recent bush firesand the devastation in theBlue Mountains andSouthern Highlands, anappeal was definitely oneof the most important fund-raisers the school

community organised. Allstudents and staff wereencouraged to wear a redpiece of clothing or

accessory and donate a goldcoin.

Bandanna Day wasanother great success with

the help of our school’sStudent RepresentativeCouncil. The SRC gave uptheir lunch times to sell

bandannas and pens. Aftera few days of selling, theSRC had sold out ofbandannas and pens thatthey were given to sell. Thiswas a very big achievement.

Did you know that thereare millions of peoplesuffering extreme cold?Well, Wrapped with Love isa program run by ourlibrarian, Mrs Estherby. The students of Albion ParkHigh created knittedsquares to make blanketsfor the people who aresuffering. In total we madeseven blankets which werethen distributed to peoplein need locally or overseas.

The 40 Hour Famine is acharity that many of thestudents of Albion ParkHigh School are involvedwith. To raise money theywent for 40 hours withoutthe things that we all takefor granted and thisinitiative raised a helpfulamount of money for peoplein Third World countries.

The Albion Park HighSchool community areextremely proud of thestudents and theircompassion to those whoare less fortunate, both inAustralia and overseas.
