PART –A 1. INTRODUCTION As per the Government order (Vide letter No. ED/49/CPAC/2005, dated 22/03/2005 and
No.ED/49/TEC/2005 dated 13/04/2005), a Central Post Graduate Admission Committee
(CPAC) is constituted as the State Agency to conduct the Post Graduate Common
Entrance Test (PGCET) – 2009, in the State of Karnataka for admission to M.E./M.Tech/
M.Arch. Courses.
In pursuance of the Government Notification No. ED 38 TEC 2009, dated 30.03.2009, the
Karnataka PGCET – 2009 will be conducted for the purpose of determining the merit of
the Non-GATE candidates for admission to the first semester of Full-Time / Part-Time of
M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch. Courses in the Institutions affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological
University (VTU), Belgaum,University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE),
Bangalore University, Bangalore. University BDT College of Engineering. Davangere;
Department of Post Graduate Studies & Research in Mathematics & Computer Sciences,
Kuvempu University, Shimoga; and Department of Studies in Computer Science,
University of Mysore, Mysore.
The Non-Karnataka candidates appearing for PGCET-2009 are eligible for the seats
available in the Non-Karnataka quota only.
Admissions are made in accordance with the Gazette Notification of Karnataka State
Government (Vide:No.ED.105 TEC 2005,dated 25th June 2005). In case of any
discrepancy, the G.O. shall prevail.
2. INFORMATION AT A GLANCE
2.1 PGCET is pleased to announce admission to Post-Graduate courses in Engineering
and Technology in the following categories
a) Full- Time M.E./M.Tech./ M.Arch. (Two academic years consisting of four semesters)
b) Part-Time M.Tech. (Three academic years consisting of six semesters)
c) Full-Time M.Tech. (Three academic years consisting of six semesters) only in the
Department of Post Graduate Studies & Research in Mathematics & Computer
Sciences, Kuvempu University, Shimoga.
2.2 A candidate can opt for M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch. Course either under (i) Full-Time or (ii) Part-Time category. One cannot apply for BOTH THE PROGRAMS.
2.3 Candidates with valid GATE score are given first preference for admission to all
M.E./M.Tech. /M.Arch. Courses. Such candidates need not have to appear for

PGCET – 2009. However, they have to apply to PGCET-2009 for admission in the
prescribed form. When GATE qualified candidates are not available, seat allotment
will be made to non Gate candidates based on the merit list of PGCET – 2009.
2.4 (a) VTU, UBDT and UVCE are offering all together 83, M.E./M.Tech. programs in
different disciplines with 04 M.Arch. programs. Candidates with
B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. Degree or it’s equivalent from a recognized University are
eligible to apply to these courses. A Non-GATE candidate seeking admission to
any of these courses should appear for PGCET- 2009 Test scheduled on
05.07.2009, under appropriate Board corresponding to their basic degree,
irrespective of M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch. Courses for which the candidate is eligible.
(b) For M.Tech. Programs offered by Department of Post Graduate Studies &
Research in Mathematics and Computer Science, Kuvempu University and
Department of Studies in Computer Science, University of Mysore, candidates
with B.E./B.Tech., B.Sc., MCA, MBA and M.Sc., from recognized Universities are
eligible. A Non-GATE candidate seeking admission to the M.E ./M.Tech. and
M.Arch. programs should appear for PGCET-2009 Test, scheduled on
05.07.2009. Separate applications should be submitted, if the candidate is
seeking admission to both under 2.4(a) and also 2.4(b).
2.5 Sponsored candidates claiming seat under sponsored quota are not entitled for claiming seat under any other quota.
2.6 Reservation of seats in respect of SC/ST/Cat-I / OBC is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates.
2.7 SC / ST / Cat-I / OBC candidates can claim seat even under General Category also, and they are entitled for GATE or any other scholarship as applicable.
2.8 All candidates applying for PGCET-2009 will be allowed to appear for the test irrespective of their eligibility. Grant of Permission to appear for the test neither entitles the candidate to a rank, nor for admission, as admission is subject only to the satisfying the eligibility criteria by the candidate.
2.9 M.Tech. Part Time Programs shall be conducted only if the number of candidates get admitted will be eight or more. However, if it is found that number of candidates admitted to a particular program is less than eight, in such cases fee will be refunded as per norms mentioned under para 7.7 of Part B.

3. DEFINITIONS
3.1 Casual Vacancy: Casual vacancy means unfilled, cancelled or newly added seats after completion of seat allotment round.
3.2 Intake: Intake as on the date of issue of seat matrix means sanctioned strength of a course of study fixed by the Government on approval of the All India Council for Technical Education.
3.3 Karnataka Candidate : Karnataka Candidate means a student who has studied in one or more Government
or Government recognized educational institutions located in the State of Karnataka
for a minimum period of seven academic years (commencing from 1st standard up
to qualifying examination either continuously or in broken periods) as on 1st July of
the year in which admission under these rules is sought. OR
a candidate who has studied and passed the qualifying examination within the State of Karnataka from an educational institution run or recognized by the State Government.
OR
a candidate either of whose parents has studied in an educational institution run or recognized by State Government and located in the State of Karnataka for a minimum period of seven years.
OR
a candidate or parent of the candidate has been resident in Karnataka for a
minimum period of seven years.
3.4 Physically Disabled: Physically Disabled shall have the same meaning as
assigned to the persons with disabilities (Equal opportunities, Protection of Rights
and full participation) Act, 1995 (Central Act 1 of 1996).
3.5 Qualifying Examination: Qualifying examination means Examination as specified under these rules as requisite for admission to M.E, M.Tech. or M.Arch.
3.6 Seat Matrix: Seat Matrix means statement showing institution-wise, course-wise and category-wise break-up of seats as notified by the Government for the relevant academic year.
3.7 Sponsored candidate: means a candidate who having served for a minimum of three years of full time work after the qualifying examination in a registered firm / company / industry / educational institution / research institution / Government Department / autonomous department or autonomous organization, in the relevant field in which admission is sought and is sponsored for admission to study M.E. M.Tech. or M.Arch. by his employer with an undertaking that, the candidate is a full time employee and will not be withdrawn from the course till the completion of the course.

4. ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY: 4.1 For Admission to M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Arch. Course (Full-Time) : Course is open for i) Candidates who have passed the prescribed Qualifying Examinations as specified in
Annexure – 5 with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the semesters / years of the degree examination (cumulative sum of secured marks of all the semesters / years divided by the sum of the maximum marks). However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and CAT-1, marks shall not be less than 45 %.
ii) Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination and expecting the result within the last date as prescribed by the PGCET cell.
4.2 For Admission to M.E./ M.Tech./M.Arch. (Part-Time): in addition to the qualification prescribed in clause 4.1, the candidates must have worked for not less than three years (after qualifying examination and experience is considered up to the date of notification) in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission.
5. RESERVATION OF SEATS: 5.1 Seats shall be reserved in favour of the candidates belonging to the following
categories of candidates to the extent specified by the Government and AICTE from time to time.
a) Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste, the Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes under categories I, II-A, II-B, III-A, III-B in accordance with G. O. No. SWL 251 BCA 94, dated: 31-01-1995.
b) Candidates who are Physically Disabled. 5.2 In the case of M.E./M.Tech./ M.Arch. (Full time) courses, the General Category
seats remaining vacant after allotment to GATE candidates, 90% of the seats are
reserved for Karnataka candidates and the remaining 10% for Non-Karnataka
candidates.
5.3 Inter-se merit shall be the basis for selection under this rule. 5.4 SC / ST & OBC candidates who are allotted seats by merit in General Category will
not be counted against the seats that are reserved for them and such candidates
will go into the list of General Category seats, however they are eligible for all
benefits of reservation as applicable.
6. GATE – SCHOLARSHIP 6.1 For receiving GATE Scholarship, a candidate must have a valid GATE Score.
6.2 Candidates with valid GATE Score, opting seats under Sponsored Quota, are not entitled for GATE Stipend.
6.3 SC/ST/OBC candidates with valid GATE Score claiming any other Scholarship from Government of Karnataka / India are not entitled for GATE Scholarship.

6.4 Candidates with valid GATE Score opting for seat under Part-Time M.E./M.Tech. Program is not entitled for GATE Stipend.
6.5 Applications for GATE scholarship from AICTE will be processed by the respective colleges where the candidates take admission and PGCET Cell has no responsibility in getting GATE Scholarship to them.
PART -B
1. INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING THE APPLICATION FORM : (Item numbers below corresponds to serial numbers in the application form).
Item 1. Admission for M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Arch. offered by :
(i) Mark VTU, UVCE and UBDTCE in block (A), for M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Arch. Programs
listed in Annexure – 5 from serial No.1 to 80. (ii) Mark Department of Post Graduate Studies & Research in Mathematics & Computer
Science, Kuvempu University and Department of Studies in Computer Science,
University of Mysore in the block (B), for M.Tech. programs listed in
Annexure – 5 from Serial No. 81 to 83. A candidate applying for both M.E./M.Tech. programs under (i) and (ii), should
submit separate applications. Item 2. Candidate Status: Candidates with valid GATE Score, mark GATE Block with tick
mark. Otherwise mark Non-Gate Block.
The candidate fulfilling clause 3.7 of Part- A, should mark sponsored block,
otherwise non-sponsored block.
Item3. Course Applied for: Admissions are open for Part-Time and Full-Time
M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch. Programs. Mark ANY ONE of the blocks for the program that
you wish to apply for. Application with both blocks marked is liable for rejection.
Item 4. Mark appropriate Board corresponding to your basic degree for Entrance Test: a) Not applicable to GATE candidates, b) Applicable to only those who come under (i) of item 1. A candidate has to mark the appropriate block pertaining to his / her
basic degree in which he/she has to appear for PGCET- 2009 Test, scheduled on
05.07.2009 at 11.00 am.
Item 5. Desired Test Center (Not applicable to GATE candidates):
For M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch. Programs of VTU, UBDT and UVCE, choose any one of
the Test Centers listed in Annexure – 3.
( Mention place of Test Centre only). For the courses M.Tech. of Department of Post Graduate Studies & Research in Mathematics & Computer Science, Kuvempu

University and Department of Studies in Computer Science, University of Mysore, choose either Davangere or Mysore test center as listed in Annexure – 3.
Item 6. Name of the Candidate in Full: Fill in your name in block letters as recorded in the marks card of qualifying examination.
Item 7. Date of Birth: Enter your DOB as mentioned in your High School (Class-X) certificate in the space provided.
Item 8. Address of the Candidate for Correspondence: Give your correct residential address with proper pin code. Indicate Phone No with STD code, Mobile No and e-mail ID if any.
Item 9. Domicile: Tick appropriate block as per your domicile status (Refer Definition 3.3 of Part-A)
Item 10. Category: Tick appropriate category block to which you belong to.
Item 11. Details of Academic Record of Qualifying Examination: Furnish details of the qualifying examination as per the format. If results are awaited, indicate RA [Result Awaited], in the marks obtained column.
Item 12. GATE Record : Provide necessary details of your record of qualifying GATE.
Item 13. Details of Professional Experience: Furnish details of your Professional Experience, in chronological order with supporting documents.
Item 14. Sponsorship Certificate: Applicable to a candidate seeking admission to Full-Time
M.E./ M.Tech./M.Arch. program. The specified format is to be duly filled and
certified by the concerned Head of Sponsoring Institution/ Organisation in the
application form itself (Advance copy of application without signature of Head of
Institution will not be entertained).
Item 15. No Objection Certificate: Applicable to a candidates seeking admission to Part-
Time M.Tech. program. The specified format is to be duly filled and certified by the
concerned Head of Organisation / Institution in the application form itself.
Item 16. Application Fee Details: To be furnished as specified and send original D.D. along with filled in application form.
Item 17. List of Enclosures :Enclose attested copies as listed. Candidates who’s results are awaited have to submit positively the certified copy of the marks list / result sheet on or before 31.07.2009, quoting their PGCET Entrance Test Seat Number, failing which the rank if allotted will not be entertained.
Item 18. Declaration by the Applicant: To be duly signed by the candidate.
Item 19. For Office use only: Leave it blank.

2. SUBMISSION OF FILLED APPLICATION FORM :
2.1 Candidates may download blank application form from www.vtu.ac.in or
pgcet.vtu.ac.in and take a print out of the same on an A4 size paper only. After
filling the form it should be submitted to the address specified in 2.2. along with
a) One set of Photostate copies of all necessary documents.
b) Original D.D. for Rs. 600/- (for Rs. 300/- in case of SC/ST/Category-I candidates
belonging to Karnataka), drawn in favour of Member Secretary, CPAC, payable at
Belgaum.
c) A self addressed envelope of size 12 inches x 10 inches ( without affixing postal
stamp) for dispatching the Brochure.
2.2 Address for sending the application
Note: Please duly fill the details on Page No.5 of the application form and paste it on the envelope used for submitting / sending application form to PGCET Cell.
2.3 Completed form may be submitted in person or sent by post /courier so as to reach
the above office on or before 10.06.2009. 2.4 The office of PGCET is not responsible for any transit mishap or postal delay in
receipt of completed Application form.
2.5 Incomplete applications and applications of ineligible applications will not be
considered for allotment of seat or for declaration of rank even though they are
allowed for entrance test as per 2.8 of PART – A, and the PGCET office is not
obliged to send any communication to the candidate in this regard.
3. ADMISSION TICKETS: 3.1 On receipt of completed application forms, PGCET cell will assign Seat Number and
also the Test Centre. Candidate can download their Admission Ticket by logging
on to www.vtu.ac.in or www.pgcet.vtu.ac.in. This Admission Ticket can be used
for writing PGCET Test / Counseling.
3.2 A candidate who does not find his/her name in the list at PGCET on www.vtu.ac.in or www.pgcet.vtu.ac.in, should contact Member Secretary, CPAC and Registrar, VTU Belgaum by phone/ e-mail: [email protected] immediately to avoid further consequences.

3.3 Arrangements will be made to issue a duplicate Admission Ticket to the candidate at the Test Centre one hour before the commencement of the test on production of proof of submission of application form.
3.4 Admission Ticket will be issued to GATE candidates also; such candidates need not appear for PGCET-2009. It is only for documentary proof for seat selection process. GATE candidates also can down load Admission Ticket from website.
3.5 Admission Ticket should be retained by the candidate even after written test, as it is required to be produced at the time of Counseling and Admission.
4. WRITTEN TEST: For Marking Answers, Use Black Sketch Pen Only 4.1 Candidates opting for a seat in M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch program under VTU, UVCE and
UBDTCE have to appear for written test scheduled on
05.07.2009 at 11.00 am. 4.2 Candidates opting for a seat in M.Tech. Program under Department of Post Graduate
Studies & Research in Mathematics & Computer Sciences, Kuvempu University, Shimoga and Department of Studies in Computer Science, University of Mysore, Mysore have to appear for written test scheduled on 05.07.2009 at 2.00 pm.
4.3 No candidate shall be admitted into the Examination Hall without Admission Ticket.
4.4 Candidate should be present at Test Centre half an hour before the commencement of the test.
4.5 Candidate will not be admitted into Examination Hall after 30 minutes from the
commencement of the test.
4.6 No candidate is allowed to leave Examination Hall before one hour after commencement
of the test. 4.7 Question paper pattern for M.Tech. of Department of Post Graduate Studies & Research
in Mathematics & Computer Sciences, Kuvempu University, and Department of Studies in Computer Science, University of Mysore, is as follows.
The written test will have 75 questions having multiple choices. 50 questions will carry one mark each & 25 questions will carry two marks each.
All questions are compulsory and there is no negative marking. Questions are drawn
from the syllabus shown in part II of Annexure – 6.
4.8 For VTU, UBDT and UVCE M.E./ M.Tech. / M. Arch. Programs, written test will be conducted in nine disciplines pertaining to different branches of engineering namely;
1. Civil Engineering 2. Chemical Engineering 3. Computer Science & Engineering 4.Environmental Engineering 5.Textile Technology 6. Electrical Science 7.Mechanical Science 8. Polymer Science and 9. Architecture
Mechanical Science includes (i) Mechanical Engineering (ii) Industrial & Production
Engineering (iii) Industrial & Engineering Management (iv) Automobile Engineering
(v) Manufacturing Science & Engineering and (vi) Allied branches of Mechanical Science.

Electrical Science includes (i) Electrical & Electronics Engineering
(ii) Electronics & Communication Engineering (iii) Telecommunication Engineering
(iv) Instrumentation Technology (vi) Bio-Medical Engineering. (vii) Medical
Electronics and (viii) Allied branches of Electrical Science. Questions are drawn
from the syllabus shown in part I of Annexure – 6 for respective disciplines.
4.9 Question paper pattern for ME/M.Tech./ M.Arch. programs under VTU , UBDT, UVCE.
(i) Written test for disciplines listed from 1 to 5, 8 & 9 of 4.8 will consist of 75
multiple choice questions. 50 questions will carry one mark each & 25 questions
will carry two marks each. All questions are compulsory and there is no negative
marking.
(ii) Written test pattern for disciplines listed under 6 and 7 of 4.8 [Electrical Science
and Mechanical Science] is as follows:
Electrical Science: Question paper will consist of part (A) & part (B) Part (A) is common to (i) E & E (ii) E &C (iii) TC (iv) Instrumentation (v) Bio-Medical Engg.
(vi) Medical Electronics and (vii) Allied branches of Electrical Science, and consists of –
30 questions carrying one mark each & 15 questions carrying two marks each. All
questions are compulsory and no negative marking.
Part (B) is specific to candidates belonging to respective branch of specialization of
engineering and consists of 20 questions carrying one mark each & 10 questions
carrying two marks each.
Mechanical Science: Question paper will consist of part (A) & part (B)
Part (A) is common to (i) Mechanical Engineering (ii) Industrial Production & Engineering. (iii)
Industrial Engineering & Management (iv) Automobile Engineering (v)
Manufacturing Science & Engineering and (vi) Allied branches of Mechanical
Science, and consists of 30 questions carrying one mark each & 15 questions carrying
two marks each. All questions are compulsory and no negative marking.
Part (B) is specific to candidates belonging to respective branch of specialization of
engineering and consists of 20 questions carrying one mark each & 10 questions
carrying two marks each.
4.10 Books / Tables / Mechanical Charts /Programmable Electronic aids/ cell phones are
not permitted in the Examination Hall. Possession of these items in the
Examination Hall is considered as malpractice and disciplinary action will be taken

by the Chief Superintendent of the Examination Centre. Only use of scientific
calculators is permitted.
4.11 Candidates will have to attend written test at their own cost.
4.12 There is no provision for revaluation, re-totaling or personal verification of OMR
sheets of PGCET- 2009.
5. DETERMINATION OF MERIT:
5.1 Determination of Merit: Merit shall be determined for different classes of candidates
as indicated below:
(a) M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. (Full time) Course:
(1) GATE Candidates: Merit in respect of GATE candidates shall be determined
on the basis of valid GATE score.
(2)Sponsored Candidates: Merit in respect of sponsored candidates shall be
determined in the following order of preference namely
(i) Candidates employed in State Government Institutions / Organizations
(ii) Candidates employed in Public Sector / Aided Institutions
(iii) Candidates employed in Private Institutions / Private Sector
Organizations. No age limit is prescribed for sponsored candidates.
However while allotting seats persons below 45 years of age will be
preferred. In the event of his/her quitting service from sponsoring
institutions, a candidate automatically loses seat allotted under sponsored
category.
(3) In case of all Non-GATE candidates belonging to different categories merit shall
be determined on the basis of marks secured by them in the PGCET – 2009.
(b) M.Tech (Part Time) Course: (1) GATE Candidates: Merit in respect of GATE candidates shall be
determined on the basis of valid GATE score.
(2) Merit in respect of all other candidates, shall be determined on the basis
of marks secured by them in the PGCET – 2009. 5.2 Where the merit of two or more candidates is same, the inter-se merit shall be
determined with reference to the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying
examination and the candidate securing higher marks will be placed above the
candidate securing lower marks.

5.3 Where the merit of two or more candidates is equal after determining the merit under clause 5.2 above, the inter-se merit shall be determined on the basis of the
age of the candidate, with the elder candidate placed above the younger.
5.4 Preparation of Rank List: 5.4.1 For VTU, UBDT and UVCE.
i) For admission to M.E./ M.Tech. / M.Arch (Full time) Course, there shall be two
merit lists prepared as mentioned below:
(a) The list of GATE candidates, arranged in the order of merit considering the
valid GATE score, is called ‘GATE Rank List (FT)’. (b) The list of PGCET - 2009 candidates, arranged in the order of merit considering the
PGCET - 2009 marks, is called ‘PGCET Rank List (FT)’.
ii) For admission to M.Tech. (Part time) Course, there shall be two merit lists
prepared as mentioned below:
(a) The list of GATE candidates, arranged in the order of merit considering the valid
GATE score is, called ‘GATE Rank List (PT)’.
(b) The list of PGCET - 2009 candidates, arranged in the order of merit considering the
PGCET - 2009 score, is called ‘PGCET Rank List (PT)’.
5.4.2. For Kuvempu and Mysore University ; Separate rank list will be prepared
for these two Universities and procedure is similar to 5.4.1.(a) &(b)
6. DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED DURING COUNSELING:
Original Documents of Enclosures specified in the application form should be produced
as per the schedule, which will be notified along with Rank List.
7. SEAT SELECTION PROCEDURE:
7.1 Admission of candidate to any course is subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria,
apart from the candidate’s rank.
7.2 At the time of seat selection process the candidates should essentially bring a
crossed D.D. in favour of Member Secretary, CPAC, payable at Belgaum towards
first year tuition fees, which will be notified at the time of announcement of Rank List.
The Candidate will be permitted to participate in seat selection process, only on
production of DD.
7.3 The candidates should attend PGCET–2009 counseling as per the schedule for
allotment of seats. The CPAC will not entertain any explanation for delay in reporting
to the counseling.

7.4 Candidates shall be allowed to select a seat from among the seats available at the
time of selection and displayed using an electronic display board or using a projector
linked to a computer which is programmed to account for the ongoing selection and
balance seats available institution-wise as per the seat matrix.
7.5 The Seat Matrix as approved by the Government shall be used for allotment of seats
to GATE candidates first and the seats remaining vacant thereafter in the seat matrix
under different categories shall be allotted to candidates merit wise for those who
have appeared for PGCET-2009 and allotted a rank.
7.6 Order of Seat allotment: The order of Seat allotment shall be as follows
(i) Seat Allotment for M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Arch. (Full time) Course: (a) Seat Allotment To GATE Candidates: As per the approved Seat Matrix, the
allotment of seats shall be made for all GATE candidates from ‘GATE Rank List (FT)’.
(b) Seat Allotment To PGCET-2009 Candidates: The seats remaining vacant
after allotment to GATE candidates shall be allotted to candidates from
‘PGCET Rank List (FT)’; However, seats under General category are
allotted as per clause 5.2 and 5.3 of Part-A
(c) Casual Round Seat Allotment: Seats remaining vacant after allotment as
indicated in (b) above, shall be merged together and allotted first to candidates
from ‘GATE Rank List(FT)’ excluding GATE sponsored candidates, and then
to candidates from ‘PGCET Rank List (FT)’ excluding PGCET Sponsored
Candidates .
(ii) Seat Allotment for M.Tech. (Part time) Course:
(a) Seat Allotment To GATE Candidates: As per the approved Seat Matrix, the allotment of seats shall be made for all GATE candidates from ‘GATE Rank List (PT)’.
(b) Seat Allotment To PGCET - 2009 Candidates: The seats remaining vacant
after allotment to GATE candidates as specified under (a) shall be allotted to
candidates from ‘PGCET Rank List (PT)’.
(c) Casual Round Seat Allotment: Seats remaining unfilled after allotment as indicated
in (b) above, shall be merged together and allotted first to candidates from ‘GATE Rank List (PT)’ and then to ‘PGCET Rank List (PT)’.

7.7 Seat Selection under Casual round and cancellation of seat. i) A candidate who has not selected a seat in first round of counseling because of
non availability of seat of his/ her choice, can participate and select a seat
(subject to availability) in this round. In case he / she select a seat in casual
round, he / she shall get admitted to the course. In case he / she does not report
to the College for admission within stipulated last date, the seat stands cancelled
and no refund of fees paid will be entertained.
ii) A candidate who has selected a seat in the first round of counseling and wants
to participate in the causal round, is permitted to do so provided he / she has not
reported to the college where the candidate is allotted a seat. If the candidate
finds a better option, he/she has to surrender his/her first seat allotment order
and then obtain a new seat allotment order and get admitted to the college. In
case, college / course of his/her choice is not available, he/she may report to the
Institution as per the first round of selection within the stipulated date or may
reject the first round seat at the casual round itself and candidates will be
refunded the fee paid, after deducting Rs. 1000/- towards processing charges,
within four weeks.
7.8 If any candidate fails to report to the seat selection officer, when his/her rank/name
is announced, he/she will be considered for admission at the end of that day
subjected to availability of seats.
8. CHANGE OF COLLEGE OR COURSE AND MUTUAL EXCHANGE: The PGCET-Cell does not entertain any requests, once the candidate has confirmed his
seat at the computer terminal during seat selection, for change of course or institution at
any stage. Further, mutual change of seats among candidates is also not permitted.
9. FEES: The fees for admission to the courses under these Rules in respect of Government
colleges and University Departments shall be as determined by the Government by
notification. The fees for admission to the courses under these Rules in respect of Private
Unaided Professional Institutions shall be as determined by the appropriate authorities
notified from time to time. The tuition fees will be announced along with publication of
merit list.
