Stop TimesThe stop times on the map show the approximate time the bus goes by that location.
Flag StopsTo request a flag stop, you must be in a safe, visible location with enough space for the driver to safely pull over and for other vehicles to see you. Let the driver know your intentions by extend-ing your arm and waving up and down. If it is dark outside, please use a flashlight or a reflector to ensure the driver sees you. Please have your fare ready when you board the bus.
Travel TrainingTravel Training is one-on-one personalized training in the use of public transportation. This free program provides potential riders with more in-depth instruction on how to ride public transportation and is tailored to the needs of each individual. Successful training results in riders having access to shopping, jobs, medical and other social activities. Rider Rules For the passengers safety, comfort and convenience, Lewiston Transit System and Asotin County PTBA have put into effect the following passenger rules. View all our rider rules and obtain more information online at www.ridethevalley.org.
• Due to weather and construction related issues, transit may experience delays in route times and service closures. Routes are periodically changed to best serve the public. The most current route map can be found at www.ridethevalley.org.
• Passengers are required to pay a proper fare upon boarding. Drivers are unable to make change.
• Smoking is prohibited on all city property and/or within 30´ of a public transportation vehicle.
• Eating and drinking on the bus are strictly prohibited. No open container or unwrapped food item is allowed on the bus.
• We can accommodate up to two bicycles on the outside of our buses. Bicycles are loaded on a first come, first serve basis.
• Headphones are required when playing audible devices.
• Service animals are welcome aboard the bus without prior arrangements and must be under the control of it’s owner (on the floor without blocking the aisle and/or in the owner’s lap).
• Other animals may be permitted to accompany passengers only in an enclosed carrier and transported by the passenger without assistance from the driver or lift and without blocking the aisle.
• Passengers may board vehicles with strollers, hand shopping carts or other large items provided they can be either easily broken down and/or stored out of the aisle and do not pose a safety problem. Strollers must be broken down and ready to board before the bus arrives at the stop.
Kids Ride Free All Summer LongThe opportunities for summer fun are just a quick bus ride away. Race down the slides at the swimming pool or bowl a frame at the bowling alley. And can we just say, what’s better than a safe, reliable and convenient FREE ride to get you there?! Kids 17 and under ride free from June through August on all transit buses.
VanpoolSharing rides to work or school can mean big money savings. Our vanpool system is an excellent transportation alternative for those with long commutes. Passengers share the cost of fuel, maintenance and insurance through a monthly fare. Vanpool drivers are fellow commuters, responsible for collecting the monthly fee and fueling the vehicle.
