Review 2018
Two of the most prized pieces proved to be the largest and the smallest items in our November auction: an exquisite enameled gold musical pendant and a magnificent Symphonion Eroica hall clock.
Mechanical music is not the only subject to benefit from an upcoming generation of collectors in East Asia and Eastern Europe. Telegraphy and telecommunications are also
enjoying a renaissance of interest with young collectors attuned to our unique blend of tra-ditional auctions and online bidding via three international platforms based in Europe, China
and the United States.
The mechanical arts included a fine selection of cylinder musical boxes and the ever whimsical 19th century automata as well as technical apparatus from the scholarly realms of science and mathe matics.
In 2018 Auction Team Breker offered over 4000 lots across the spectrum of antique technology and historic photographica.
The highlight of our Autumn auction was the lifetime mechanical music collection of author and historian, Luuk Goldhoorn, whose focus on the earliest and the finest musical snuff boxes and objets de vertu struck a chord with buyers across the world.

Review 2018 (continued)
Subminiature 'spy' cameras were on view for the sharp-sighted.
The world of 35 mm photography was also clearly in focus with a range of stunning mono-chrome classics from Germany and Japan.
Optical illusion proved the unwatched pheno menon at Breker’s Photographica auction in September 2018, with the Molteni skeleton projection making a ghostly appearance and strong prices paid for pre-cinema devices, rare optical toys and deluxe mahogany cameras.
