During  our  inquiry  lessons  for  the  next  two  weeks,  the  children  will  learn  about  how  they  can  make  “contributions  to  a  community”  through  giving  gifts,  kind  words,  and  help  to  others.  Pay  it  Forward  projects  are  due  on  Monday,  December  19th.         We  will  conclude  our  author  study  of  Mem  Fox  this  week.  The  children  will  compare  and  contrast  two  different  stories  written  by  Mem  Fox.    They  will  identify  three  similar  things  and  three  different  things  from  the  texts.

Now  that  we’ve  analyzed  several  books,  to  determine  the  writing  structure,  the  children  will  begin  trying  to  use  one  of  these  structures  to  write  their  own  text.    They  will  find  ideas  in  their  memory  book  and  begin  writing  a  new  text  using  one  of  these  “writing  decisions”.
