A BIG cat sanctuary isasking people to donateperfume and aftershave —as the animals love it.

Keepers spray it ontoys, bushes and evenposts in their enclosurefor the lions and tigers tostimulate their senses.

Tanith Brown, of theWildlife Heritage Founda-tion, in Ashford, Kent,said: “They rub, scent,roll and brush against itas they would with natu-ral smells in the wild.”

And she revealed thatNias the Sumatran tiger’sfavourite spray is RalphLauren’s Safari.

The sanctuary, whichholds experience days, isalso home to leopards,jaguars . . . and lynx.

HORRORESTATESGET AXE100 face Cam bulldozerBRITAIN’S worst housingestates will be flattenedand turned into vibrantnew communities underplans unveiled by DavidCameron this week.

The PM will send in bull-dozers and replace 100 of theworst areas with “safe,attractive and affordable”homes for existing residents.

He will stump up £140millionto kick-start projects in sinkestates plagued bycrime, gangs, drugsand unemployment.

It is part of a hugepackage of measuresaimed at ending pov-erty and boosting thelives of poor families.

Areas that could beknocked down com-pletely include theWinstanley Estate inWandsworth, South

West London. Others up forimprovement include the crum-bling Manor Estate in Sheffield.

Michael Heseltine, who helpedtransform Toxteth, Liverpool,after the 1981 riots, will chair anew estate regeneration panel.

Mr Cameron said: “Decades ofneglect have led to gangs andanti-social behaviour. And pov-erty has become entrenched,because those who could affordto move have done so.”

Estates will beradically transformedor knocked downand rebuilt, he said.

The project ismodelled on schemesthat have revivedtwo London estates —Woodberry Down inHackney and Pack-ington in Islington.
