11 Hanging of keyboard

Check if filter keys option is enabled. If ON, close from Control Panel Accessibility option uncheck the box of filter key.

While switching on the system, error is shown as “KEY BOARD MISSING”

Check whether the cable from key board is connected to the system in the backside.

Key board keys are not working properly.

Paper bits/clips may be accumulated inside the key board preventing the keys to function properly. Turn the key board upside down. Shake out any paper, paper clips that can be inside.

12 Printer is switched on. Even after print command is given, no print out.

Check whether the ‘online’ button is switched on.Check whether the printer data cable is connected to the system.

13 A small, blank line is printed consistently.

Print head pin defective. Replace print head.

14 Print head gets struck on one side while printing.

Dust may have accumulated in the print head moving rod. Clean it with 3-in-1 oil.

17 In Printer, consistently faded or light characters are printing.

Replace the ribbon with new one.

18 In laser printer, if printing is light and dark and in some places disappearing.

Ink may have become dry. Take out the Toner out of the printer, shake it gently and put it back in the printer. If the problem still persists, refill / replace the toner.

19 UPS output stops immediately after power off.

Batteries are not charged properly.Fill with distilled water, in case of maintenance batteries.Identify the defective battery and replace, in case of Sealed Maintenance Free batteries.

1.UPS :- Direct supply of electricity is to be continued even after closing of office.2.Internet :- Do not switch ON /OFF modem after booting ( starting up ) of computer.1.Properly shut down the Personal Computer (PC) at the end of day to avoid chances of corruption of data on Hard Disk.2.At regular interval (15 to 20 days) all Hard disks must be scanned & defragged.3.Backup of Important database, Files & Folders must be taken daily & one copy must be kept, out of office premises.

1.Make one client computer ready with server operating system can be used as subsequent server in emergency / incidence of failure of regular server.2.Printer should be properly closed by covering after completion of work.3.When starting the computer, check all peripherals like Printer, Modem, Scanner, Weighing scale etc.. are switched ON and there is no problem with USB device.4.Anti-Virus software loaded on all computers and updated regularly.

1.It is recommended to use complex passwords ( Capital, Small Alphabet, Special Character & Numeric Keys ) e.g. ABcd@123 for all operators, supervisor & system administrator. Don't use blank passwords.2.Watch for regular service provided by manufacturer or AMC holder of all computers & peripherals.3.Apply the blower at regular intervals to all computers & peripherals for smooth working.4.Check that floppy should not be left out in the computer before shut down.5.If any programme is hanging or not responding, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete key and click on end task to close the particular programme.

1.Avoid use of unauthorised software - CD, Pen Drive, Floppy having virus.2.Only authorised persons should be allowed to enter server room.3.Replace ribbon - refill ink cartridge at regular intervals.4.To move / adjust the paper by rod, it must be done by switching off the printer.5.Oil Head rod in Dot-matrix printer regularly.6.Before start of monsoon, all the computers may be cleaned ( dust free ) by blowing air as it acts as a conductor in wet atmosphere.7.Clean area where computer equipment is installed. Preventive action for any damage by rat etc.
