 Academic  Qualifications:    •  B.  Sc.  in  Environmental  Science,  UKM,  1999    •  Masters  in  Environmental  Management,  UKM,  2000  •  Ph.  D.  in  Environment  &  Development  (IWRM),  UKM,  2006    Areas  of  Expertise:  •  Integrated  Water  Resources  Management  (IWRM)    •  Integrated  River  Basin  Management  (IRBM)  •  Sustainable  Ecosystem  Management    •  Sustainability  Science  and  Governance  for  Sustainable  Development      Brief  Profile:  Dr.  Rahmah  Elfithri   is  a  Senior  Lecturer  and  Research  Fellow  at  the   Institute  for  Environment  and  Development  (LESTARI),  Universiti  Kebangsaan  Malaysia  (UKM).  She  received  her  first  degree  B.  Sc.  (Hons)  in  Environmental  Science  from  UKM  in  1999,  Masters  in  Environmental  Management  from  UKM   in   2000,   and   Ph.   D.   in   Environment   &   Development   (Integrated   Water   Resources  Management)   from  UKM  in  2006.  She  conducted  various  research  projects   in  areas  of  water  and  environmental  sustainability,  river  conservation  and  rehabilitation,  sustainable  and  integrated  river  basin  management,   integrated   flood   and   stormwater  management,   capacity   building   for   IWRM,  education   for   sustainable   development,   community   participation   and   awareness   programme,  sustainable   campus,   promoting   green   lifestyle   and   recycling   activities   in   collaboration  with   some  Local,   National   and   International   partners/networks.   She   also   published   number   of   journals,  books/chapter   in  books,  proceedings  etc   related   to   the  above  said  areas.  She   is  a  Coordinator  of  Integrated   Water   Resources   Management   (IWRM)   Research   Group   and   Sustainable   Ecosystem  Management   Research   Group   in   UKM   since   2008.   She   is   a   Coordinator   of   Langat   UNESCO  HELP  River  Basin  Initiative  under  the  UNESCO-­‐IHP  HELP  (Hydrology  for  the  Environment,  Life  and  Policy)  Programme   since   2004.   She   is   also   a   coordinator   of   Putrajaya   UNESCO   Ecohydrology  Demonstration  Site   Initiative  under   the  UNESCO-­‐IHP   Ecohydrology  Programme  (EHP)   since  2010.  She  actively  served   in  various  networks  and  partnerships   in  Malaysia  such  as  Steering  Committee  Member   of   Malaysian   Capacity   Building   Network   for   IWRM   (MyCapNet/MyCBNet)   2005-­‐2010,  Steering  Committee  Member  of  Malaysian  Country  Water  Partnership  (MyCWP)  since  2008  &  Chair  of   MyToolBox   Committee   under   the   MyCWP   since   2011,   Executive   Committee   Member   of  UNESCO-­‐IHP  Malaysia   (MIHP)   since  2010,   Integrated  River  Basin  Management   (IRBM)  Task  Force  Committee  Member  of  Academy  of  Sciences  Malaysia  (ASM)  since  2012  and  Advocacy,  Awareness  &  Capacity  Building  (AACB)  Task  Force  Committee  Member  of  ASM  since  2015,  National  Research  Committee   Member   on   Lake,   Reservoir   and   its   Catchment   since   2014,   Advisory   Committee  Member  of  National  River  Care  Fund  (NRCF)  Programme  since  2015,  Coordinator  of  Ecohydrology  Malaysia  Chapter  (EMC)  since  2017,  Founding  Member  of  Friends  of  Langat  River  (FoLR)  since  2017  &   Friends   of   River   (FoR)  Malaysia   since   2018,   Founder  Member     of   International   Association   of  Water,   Environment,   Energy   and   Society   (IAWEES)   since   2018,   and   Committee   Member   of  International  Association  for  Coastal  Reservoir  Research  (IACRR)  Malaysia  Chapter  since  2018.
