Employment : A Generational Challenge
• 8 0% of Population in Pakistan is under 30
• 1 Billion workers from emerging New Economies (China and India amongst all) have joined the global labour market since 2000.
• 70% of India’s intl trade is for providing Outsourcing Services to Western Economies
• Ford Motor expects that the number of workers older than 50 will double in Europe by 2008
• Daimler Chrysler expects over-45 workers to rise from 41% in 2002 to 68% in 2011
• In US half of working age Americans expect to work into their 70s whether by financial necessity or by lifestyle choice (AARP Survey)
• In Japan the number of people between 15 and 64 is expected to decline by 740.000/year for next decade
• In Finland employment rate between 60 and 64 has doubled since 1990 and 21% of Corporate Training Programs are attended by employees older than 50
• In 2010 10 TOP Jobs will not have existed in 2004
• Median Age will cut Europe’s growth at least 1% annually for the next 3 decades

The TRIO Initiative in the Tuscany Region
Building Europe’s Leading Life Long Learning for Employment Initiative
• TRIO was born in 1998 as a Lisbon Adenda initiative of Region of Tuscany (Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Labour Policies) to support the Region Employment market Towards the Challenges and Opportunities of the New Millennium through a FREE Content & Support Services approach
• It has evolved through 3 funding cycles and Managing Consortium, Now Giunti Labs, Tecnofor and Brain Technology since Fall 2007
• Today Trio is Europe’s largest Regional LLL4Employment initiative with more than:
• 1500 courses • 150.000 registered users,• 70.000 active learners• 40.000 registered training hours /month• Fully Free !
• New Roadmap based on :•Content Mapping to Competencies for Personalization, Reuse and Federated Sharing•Blended Learning (Web Learning Groups + eLearning)•Porting from Vendor turn key solution (SABA) to a Open Standards Based Architecture (Moodle + Hive DR)

Trio’s Analytics (Users)
• More than 150.000 registered users of which more than 70.000 active learners.
• Most than 65% of the Users are Employed
• Professional Position of learners: 48.2 % of active learners are “employees”
• Schooling Position of learners: 41% of active learners have “ high school diplomas
• Reached Via Communities of practice named WLG, Web Learning Groups
• 407.659 training hours have been registered (period january – october ‘09 ) and tracked in SCORM, with a monthly average in the period of 40.765 hours.

• To-date, there are 1.534 available products (on-line courses and e-books)
• More than 596.000 course registrations in the 13 Macro Areas available in Trio catalogue (date 31/10/09)
• 20 most ordered courses among available products
Trio’s Analytics (Customer Satisfaction)
• Trio Help Desk registered 3.145 requests (total) from april to october ’09. 74.4% technical assistance and with an Average response time is 6,6 working hours (with an 8 hour S.L.A.)
• Tutoring service registered 503 requests (total) via from June to october ‘09. Average response time is 5,3 working hours (with a 16 hour S.L.A.)
• 95,1% of the users evaluates positively the whole TRIO project.
• 95,1% of the users evaluates positively the courses content
• 93,2% of the users has a mind to attend, in the future, other TRIO courses
• 83,76% of active users, after attending and completing a course, attend another one, That means: 5 users (out of 6) are “loyal” (period 01/07/02 – 31/10/09)
