What are we learning?Daily Objective: Students will use Autodesk Inventor to create digital models of various simple parts, include puzzle cube pieces.

TEKS/AP/Standards: 130.365 The student applies concepts of engineering to specific problems. The student is expected to(7A)  use a variety of technologies to design components(7C)  research applications of different types of computer-aided drafting and design software

How will we learn it?Learning Activities:

Teacher will review the steps used to create a drawing file of a 3D part. Teacher will also instruct students in the procedure for saving a screenshot of each puzzle part and drawing, including how to expand 3D features in the part browser prior to submitting.

Teacher will demonstrate using Mate-Mate and Mate-Flush constraints for assembling the puzzle cube from the 5 individual parts, including instructions on how to ground the base part.

Finally, teacher will present the requirements for the Fast Food Project and distribute project summaries. Students will insert summaries into their engineering notebooks.

Students will complete all puzzle cube drawing files. When finished, students will create a Microsoft Word document containing all 10 screenshots and submit via the Hub. Students will submit a screenshot of the completed assembly as a separate file.

Teacher will assist students and answer questions as needed.

How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly?Assessment Methods: Puzzle cube part, drawing, and assembly files

Checks for Understanding: Observation of student work, student questions

What do I need to be successful?Materials: Computer, Autodesk Inventor, engineering notebook, Fast Food Project summary

What do I need to before next class?Follow Up/HW: Review notes on drawing files for quiz on block day Review DigitalSTEAM videos as needed to learn skills in Autodesk Inventor
