Dear Parishioners,
The end of this week we begin
the month of May. May is the
month of Mary. May is
considered the season of the
beginning of new life. Mary is
crowned with flowers and given
special honor. Mary has the title
“Queen of Heaven and Earth.”
We do not worship Mary but
give her special honor for being
the Mother of Jesus and the
Mother of the Church. Let us ask for Mary’s intercession and follow her
example of faith throughout the month of May. If you are able to, please
pray the rosary for our country and world.
We continue to record Mass for every Sunday. I thank you for tuning in.
I also thank you for your contributions. We are hanging in there.
People ask me when we will be back. I just say it is up to the state and
no word yet. Hopefully soon.
Blessings to you all.
Fr. Craig
In Pursuit of Life, Love and
Happiness
By: Deacon Jim Shipman
In today’s Gospel, Luke tells us the
story of two of Jesus’ disciples go-
ing to the village of Emmaus the
morning that Our Lord resurrected.
They encounter Jesus on their way,
but failed to recognize Him as He
joined them on the journey. On
their walk, Jesus explained to them
Salvation History and why the
Messiah had to suffer. As they
came to the village they asked
Jesus to stay, and He agreed to
stay with them. As they sat down
to eat a meal Jesus broke bread
and they finally recognized Him as
The Lord.
There are multiple explanations on
the meanings of this story. One
explanation is that we often fail to
recognize Jesus in our lives. This is
also a story on our life’s journey
and our relationship with Jesus.
Another explanation is that we ex-
perience Our Lord in the Eucharist.
Our life is a journey and our desti-
nation is Heaven to be with our
Risen Lord. This Scripture, “The
Road to Emmaus”, represents our
encounter with Jesus Christ. As we
travel together, He teaches us how
to live our lives and teaches us
what is Truth. We also need God
to nourish us in our Spiritual Jour-
ney to survive the twists and turns
of life. When we receive the Holy
Eucharist in communion, we receive
His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity.
Once we acknowledge this, our
eyes are opened to the Presence
of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
All of us who believe in our Lord
Jesus Christ are on this Spiritual
Journey. As we practice our faith
and read the Scriptures we realize
that Jesus is always walking by our
side on this Journey to Heaven.

The Siena Francis House Needs Hamburgers!
Generous parishioners from St. Leo Parish provide food for the
meals at Siena Francis House 4 times a month. We have a need
for more hamburgers on the first and third Mondays of the
month. You purchase frozen hamburger patties and deliver them
to St. Leo once a month (you can choose to be part of the first
or third Monday team.) Right now volunteers are asked to
provide 2 dozen patties. However, most stores have downsized
their packaging and only sell packs of 18. If we can get several
more volunteers, then we can all bring the 18 pack and still
provide enough hamburgers. If you would like to start donating
hamburgers, please email [email protected]. Thank you for your
generosity!
St. Leo Rosary CD Now Available at the Office
You can now pray the rosary by listening to our
Rosary CD featuring members of St. Leo the
Great! The CD features Fr. Craig, Kevin Cooper,
and members of our parish. CDs are available
for sale in the parish office. They are $15 and
ALL proceeds of CD sales go to St. Leo the Great
Parish. Thank you for your support.
