    Spring is here and not a rnoment toosoon. The time for the Annual Meeting of theFitchburg Historical Society is approachingalthough it will be about five months later thanusual. We will meet at the new Fitchburg Libraryafter its opening in July. Our meeting will beheld on Saturday, July 30tn * 1:30 in theafternoon in the Thermo Fisher ConferenceRoorn on the second floor of the library. Thiswill give those attending a chance to see what thebuilding has to offer and a chance to see wherethe Historical Society will be located in thebuilding.

    The FHS will have office space and aroom for local history, The Fitchburg Room,which dedicated to the founding families ofFitchburg. There will also be storage space forour collections in the climate-controlledbasement. Conffibutions designated for theFitchburg Room can be sent to the FitchburgPublic Library Capital Campaign Committee,Box 404, 2935 S. Fish Hatchery Road, FitchburgWI 5371T. Atl contributions will beacknowledged in the FHS location.

    Perhaps because of the delayed AnaualMeeting several members have not sent in theirmembership renewals. This can be done beforeJuly by contacting Janet Maves at 5781 ChapelValley Road, # 2A6, Fitchburg, 537T1. Dues are$10.00 for a single member and $12.00 for afamily membership. A small x on ycur mailinglabel indicates we have no record of youmembership for }A11. If this is in error please

    accept our apologles and contact Janet. It is anadded benefit to include your email address. Thesociety only uses the email addresses of membersto send out short reminders between mailednewsletters.

    The Annual Meeting will be relativelyshort. and the program to foliow will feature amusical presentation by The Special EditionTrio. They will perform a series of tunes thatspan the years that represent the 175 years ofDane County. The meeting is open to membersand non-members alike. Guests are alwayswelcome.

    Among several important items on themeeting's agenda will be a vote to accept thenewly revised by-laws. A preview of therevisions follows:
