A teaching position that would enable me to share my years of experience to foster a learning environment where students

are encouraged to explore possibilities and articulate ideas through a combination of theory, technology and practice.

Education and creativity are lifetime endeavors, and it is my goal to not only instill a love of design within my students

but also an appreciation for education. When you stop being interested in learning, you stop growing. Students learn by

example; if they cannot trust their professor, they do not feel they are gaining anything from the course. It is my goal to

inspire my students with excellence in design practices, theory and critiques by emphasizing not only the fundamentals of

graphic design theory but also critical thinking skills and visually driven problem solving.

Graphic designers have become more important in this new technological age of “under-organization” by taking on new

roles as the critical thinkers, the fi lters and the organizers. In the end, it is what we present and how that information

is presented which the rest of the world will receive. I hope to prepare these students as a mentor and a resource who

will enable them to advance as critical thinkers, equipping them for this important role in the future of technology and

information management.
