ZPY CREATIVE

ZPY Creative is the product + production of Australian-based Kiwi designer Zoe Platt-Young. This portfolio includes examples of brand creation and development, digital and graphic design, photography,

and illustration. On the following pages is a survey of work spanning 3+ years, predominantly consisting of commerical and freelance projects.

QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS SOFTWARE

Bachelor of Design Innovation (2012)

Majoring in Culture and Context Design, with a Minor in Sociology. Victoria University of Wellington.

Graphic and Digital Design, Web and Print Management

Brand research, development and design, including formation and updates, layout design, art direction, print design, website + web banner design, email design, web CM. Examples include: Clouding Around, Cause I Can, Luna, ZPY Creative, NZRB, MBIE, Town & Country.

Illustration and Photography

Digital portraiture, storyboarding, conceptual sketching (by hand), film and digital photography. Examples include: 'Hannah', 'Yorkstrasse', 'Lomo House'.

Front End Web Development (2015)

Three month Web Development certificate covering the basics of HTML + CSS. General Assembly, Melbourne.

Adobe Creative Cloud

Fluent user of 5+ years in the 'holy trinity' of graphic design software - InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Also a hearty user and manipulator of Acrobat DC, and somewhat proficient in video and animation programs Adobe After Effects and Premiere.

Office and Project Management Tools

Fully conversant in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint, some commerical experience with Excel, Experienced and enthusiastic user of tools such as Trello and Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).

Luna is a proposed fashion venture, consisting mostly of the design and promotion of high quality sleepwear and founded in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Combining strong scandivianian-inspired typography and ethereal photographic imagery, one is taken on an abstract visual journey, provoking intrigue. The white text of 'Luna' is designed to appear as if illuminated by moonlight.

ZPY CREATIVE

ZPY Creative was a project to rebrand myself and my design practise.

This entailed a logo, business card, portfolio and website overhaul and redesign, the results of which can be see on the following pages.

Logo variants pictured to the right were designed to represent a 'seal' emblem, with the inner shape being derived from the three initials of ZPY.

Pictured are screenshots from the ZPY Creative site, developed as my final project for the Front End Web Development Certificate from General Assembly, Melbourne.

The syllabus provided education in HTML and CSS, with the projects being self directed and focussed on troubleshooting. This has contributed to my web project management skills and provided insight into development aspects of design requirements.

Clouding Around is a boutique Salesforce Development and Consulting firm based in Melbourne, Australia. They focus on improving efficiency and growing returns for the Education and Not-for-Profit sectors in particular.

The refreshed elements of the Clouding Around brand were designed to complement the creation of a new collection of products - the Cause I Can suite.

The email template was also to communicate package updates which occur relatively frequently as the development team look to fufill the needs of Clouding Around's Not for Profit clients.

In addition to a strong web presence, Clouding Around needed a professional way for consultants to introduce themselves to potential clients in a print format. Pictured are presentation items and corporate stationery.

To translate the new Clouding Around brand into print, the graphic device of intersecting polygons was introduced, referencing Melbourne in a subtle form.

This approach was also used for the Presentation Folders, given to potential clients during live product demos.

Designed to function as a set, the Cause I Can booklet and Clouding Around business card complement each other, whilst maintaining their individual identities.

The booklet diverges from the aesthetic of the business card with a strong photographic presence that is curated for each application.
