ZNDC @ Five

T he year 2009 saw the inaugural Zimbabwe Na-

tional Debate Championship (ZNDC) which was

hosted by the National University of Science and Technology

(NUST).

The second edition of the ZNDC was held at the University of

Zimbabwe in August 2010. This was a much more exciting,

bigger and better tournament with 40 teams from seven Insti-

tutions.

In August 2011 Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) host-

ed the 3rd edition of the Zimbabwe National Debate Champion-

ships. 60 teams participated at this tournament.

Mutare Teachers College hosted the 4th edition of the ZNDC

which had 72 teams from 21 Institutions of Higher Learning in

Zimbabwe . The Championship was won by Bulawayo Poly-

technic College who became the official representatives of ZDN

at WUDC Berlin 2012/13.

Masvingo Teachers College won the right to host the Fifth Edi-

tion of the ZNDC. As a means to prepare the Institution to host,

CA-F facilitated for one student from Masvingo Teachers Col-

lege to attend the WUDC Berlin as a tournament staff. On the

6th of June 2013 , CA-F sealed the hosting agreement with

Masvingo Teachers College Admin .

This tournament is expected to be even much bigger with

more institutions attending.
