Preaching Festival at Trinity Seminary in Ohio, Stephani Shumaker was chosen to participate in the Na-tional Young Preachers Festival in Lexington, Kentucky on Jan 2-4. Stephani is considering pursuing a calling to ministry.

WOMEN OF ZION • Dorcas Circle is on Tuesday, December 1, which is a change in

• The Twelve Days of Christmas Tea is Saturday, December 12 from 3:00 to 5:00pm in the Family Life Center. Th is annual Christ-mas season event is open to women and girls of all ages. Tea and hot chocolate will be served, along with cookies and other good-ies. Th e program includes door prizes, holiday music, and a drawing for a quilt. Participants are asked to bring bring new undergarments for women, to be donated to Christian Assistance Ministry (CAM). Th e monetary off ering collected at the Tea will be used for Lutheran World Relief quilt shipping expenses.

Come join us for fun - and we encour-age you to hostess a table for eight. Stop by the display in the narthex to RSVP and receive more information. Sign-up deadline is Decem-ber 2.

5TH GRADE COMMUNION CLASSBeginning January 10, 5th Graders will receive instruction on the Sacrament of Holy Com-munion during the regular Sunday School class time at 10:15am. Susan Wright will be teach-ing the class and there will be four weeks of in-struction - January 10, 17, 24 and 31. Th e class will go on a fi eld trip to the sacristy to learn the behind the scenes aspects of communion. Class members will take Holy Commu-nion together at the 11:15am worship service on February 7, 2016. A detailed letter will be mailed to 5th graders and their families during December.

SUNDAY SCHOOL HOLIDAYS & CHANGESRegular Sunday School classes will be held on December 20. Th ere will be no Sunday School classes for children or adults on Sunday, De-cember 27. Classes will resume on January 3, 2016 with a new schedule and some new locations. All classes will meet from 10:15 to 11:00am. • 6th & 7th Grades and 8th thru High School

classes will relocate to Church #2. • Kindergarten and 1st Grade classes are mov-

FAMILY CHRISTMAS EVENT –‘TWAS THE LIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS On Sunday, December 6 at 3pm in the Family Life Center families will come together to present the Christmas story. Families will hear a devo-tion, learn a song and create a craft. Th en everyone will come together to share what they did and enjoy a performance. A cast party will follow the performance for everyone. So don’t miss coming together with your family for a fun-fi lled afternoon on December 6.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CELEBRATION OF JESUS’ BIRTHDAYOn Sunday, December 20 at 9:30am (during the regular Sunday School hour) Sunday School classes will celebrate Jesus’ birthday. Th ey will hear the story of his birth, create a craft and have a snack. Sunday School classes will meet in their rooms and then go to Church #2.
