ABOUT ZIKOAFRIKAZikoAfrika is a contemporary accessories brand inspired by the dual heritage of founding sisters Sisi and Elle. Each product is handcrafted in Kenya and reflects

both European and African design aesthetics for a modern take on traditional forms and materials.

Generating employment while promoting a positive image of the continent through high-end production is a central part of the brand ethos. In line with this, ZikoAfrika

works with three ethically certified workshops and sources as many raw materials as possible from Kenya or the East African region.

Rather than being driven by trends, and in line with environmentally and socially

responsible production principles, we only release a limited number of designs per year so we can focus on longer lead times for our producers.

SISI AND ELLE

We are sisters of Kenyan and British heritage and both studied at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. After working in the development field we realised the importance of effecting lasting

change through business opportunity. This background, coupled with a strong interest fashion and design, led to the

founding of ZikoAfrika.

Where and how the products are produced is very important to us. We

spent over a year establishing relationships with workshops in Nairobi that provide valuable employment and

training opportunities under strict socially responsible guidelines.

This ensure that the artisans who manufacture our products work in good conditions and earn a fair wage.

OUR PRODUCERS

Fair production is central to our brand ethos. ZikoAfrika therefore only works with producers who

pay their employees a living wage and provide further

training opportunities.

We regularly visit all workshops producing our products and are passionate about exploring new production methods with local

businesses in Nairobi.
