The meeting will be attended by Governor N.N. Vohra, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, general officer com-manding-in-chief (GOC-in-C) Northern Command, Lt. Gen. D.S. Hooda and the three corps commanders of the 14th, 15th and the 16th Corps. The governor will later host lunch for the prime minister at the Raj Bha-van in Srinagar. It has withstood onslaughts of conspirators always with the highest support of masses emerging victori-ous”, he maintained and expressed confidence over the workers of National Conference that they will steer the party once again through tumult waters to achieve the cherished goal of ‘Naya Kashmir’.“Your detractors are out to put all hurdles in your way. They want to damage National Conference. This has been their long desire but like in the past you teach them a lesson again and put down their castle of ill designs to the ground”, he said asking NC rank and file to make the opponents bite the dust in forthcoming elections by handing over people’s overwhelming verdict against them. The Working President National Conference castigat-ed PDP for its bizarre behaviour of making the party safe castle for the elements having corruption charges and bad reputation. He said that this has punctured the balloon of falsehood of PDP crying hoarse against cor-ruption. He said by inducting elements with charges of corruption in the party fold and allotting tickets to them speaks volumes about the lust of the party to grab pow-er by hook or crock. He said they cannot fool people who know everything what is being cooked to divide them for power politics.Referring to the achievements of the gov-ernment, Omar Abdullah asked the National Conference workers to make people fully aware of the historic de-cisions taken by the government during the last over five years to empower common man and give him the authority to ask any question to the government regard-ing its performance in various fields of development and governance. He said this historic measure alongwith es-tablishment of Panchayat Raj and creation of hundreds of New Administrative Units to enhance the access of the people to the administration besides implementa-tion of Public Services Guarantee Act – a novel legisla-tion – to ensure time bound public services to the people, are some extra-ordinary achievements of the coalition government which NC workers need to explain to the people and make them aware of the impact of these for ensuring in transparency and curbing corruption.Omar Abdullah also mentioned the measures of e-tendering, e-procurement and 3rd party independent monitoring of development projects besides making formulation of Results Framework Document essential for every department so that at the end of the year the perfor-mance of these departments could be ascertained as per their own set gauge.

pro-freedom camp. The freedom movement of Kash-miri nation is not like what Naqvi has said but this struggle is a living reality and it doesn’t only include the precious sacrifices of Kashmiri nation but it has the strong backing of 18 UN resolutions and the un-fulfilled promises and agreements of Indian lead-ership which they have made with the people of Kashmir on national as well as international lev-els. The reality of Kashmir can’t be diluted mere-ly that Naqvi couldn’t convert his ministerial dream into reality. Spokesman said that Mukhtar doesn’t have any important status and in the past many influential rulers of India have also issued such statements about Kashmir but that couldn’t change the situation.Nether have they succeeded in changing the dis-puted nature of Kashmir nor have they motivated people to surrender. Rulers came and left but the Kashmir issue is still alive and even more stron-ger and due to lingering of this dispute, not only the people of Kashmir aresuffering but the whole sub-continent is passing through the political uncertain situation and in-stability is prevailing in the whole south Asian region. Hurriyat spokesman cautioned that the mischievous statement of the BJP’s leaders are adding fuel to the already disturbed situations of the state and it will have serious consequences if not stopped immediately and its responsibility will be on the shoulders of those people who are acting like the Ostrich bird and are running away from the reality of Kashmir issue. Consider making some plans for a vacation or short getaway, Libra. Looking forward to something fun can make even the tough-est of days far easier to handle. You’ll be amazed how much you can manage when there’s an end in plain sight. Your entire attitude can lighten. So take the bull by the horns and create an incentive for yourself. Do something special to reward the hard work you do day after day.

Don’t judge someone if he or she has a different lifestyle than what you consider to be OK, Scorpio. You probably lean toward the traditional, yet not everyone feels this way about re-lationships, working, or lifestyle. While it may seem impossible to understand and even frighten you, try not to be too harsh on those you deem odd. You’d be better off using that energy to keep your own life on track.

Friends seeking advice or a shoulder to cry on could be plentiful today, Sagittarius. You’re one of best people to give them the support and care they need. Just be sure that you don’t give so much to others that you don’t have anything left for yourself. True friendship is about sharing and the exchange of problems and help. Running yourself down will leave you in a place where you aren’t going to be much help to anyone.

Getting through today shouldn’t pose too big a problem for you, Capricorn. You may feel a huge second wind that can give you the drive and determination to see your chores and projects through. Make some plans for this evening, such as getting to-gether with friends or taking in an event that really intrigues you. Until then, go about your tasks bit by bit. You’ll get things finished before you know it.

Working within boundaries and restrictions could really get to you today, Aquarius. Yours is an independent spirit and your best achievements are often born of doing things your own way. Yet like it or not, we all have to follow guidelines and rules. Do your best to follow suit and finish what needs to be done. Afterward, you may find more freedom to act independently without consequences. Exercise patience and diligence as needed today.

Chances are that you’ll feel upbeat and positive today, Pisces. Consider sharing this energy with those around you who are feel-ing less than content. Your attitude can have a profound effect on friends, partners, spouses, and children. Even neighbors and ex-tended family can pick up on your spirit without you even real-izing it. Share your optimism with everyone you can today. If you see someone hurt or angry.

Feeling the effects of today’s energies, Virgo? Take heart if this is the case, because the end of the tunnel isn’t as far away as it seems. Do your best to take things one step at a time and see about making some plans for a little fun this evening. Get together with friends or take in a movie. Help yourself feel better by staying busy and focused and follow up with some recreation. Before you know it, the aspect will pass and you’ll be back to normal.

Don’t discount your ability to be extremely resourceful if you need to be, Aries. If you don’t have everything you need or all of the required information, take time to think. Who can you ask? What places can you access? Who might know where you can find what you need? Rather than panic because the pieces aren’t all there, instead make a list of contacts and go for it. Trust in yourself.

Try not to let today’s blues get you down, Taurus. While it’s true that some days can seem to drag on, the busier you are the faster time will pass. Get down to finishing any work still before you and then make plans for tonight. If there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, not only will things seem to speed up but you’ll feel better knowing it’s coming.

Dare to be different, Gemini. It can be so easy to fall into a drill. Sleeping at the same time, eating at the same time, wearing the same style, and going about work the same way day after day. Be-fore you know it, you feel like you’re in a rut. The only way to get away from this is to make a decision to break free by doing some-thing unique. Try a new haircut. Wear colors that are unusual for you. If the need is there, consider a new career. Pursue expansion.

If your lifestyle is considerably different than that of others, re-sist feeling self-conscience about it today, Cancer. Try to remember that you chose the life you have for specific reasons. Even if you’ve come to a point where you’re considering a change, there’s no need to feel badly, ashamed, or embarrassed about where you are now. Everyone has to make his or her own way. If this conforms to the norm, that’s fine. If it doesn’t, that’s fine, too.

An enhanced feeling of determination could motivate you today, Leo. Finish the things that aren’t complete and make some plans for this evening. Don’t hesitate to take on something that feels compli-cated or big. Chances are you’ll be able to handle most anything and it will feel great when it’s finished. Enjoy your day by making the most of opportunity.

Discourage defectors, Turn coats and

Corrupt Bureaucrats

The way former bu-reaucrats, media per-sons and others who have gained some prominence here and

there are joining different polit-ical parties, it is looking child-ish, and unprofessionally stage managed drama which has be-come a laughing stock for gener-al public who witness it without any seriousness. All buffoons in the society are being taken in herds by different parties and the event is being publicized to give an impression that there is a Modi like wave in Jammu & Kashmir also. The top most beneficiary of this ongoing tamasha is PDP whose leaders are now flying in air after they inflicted a humiliating defeat on National Conference and Congress Alliance which was already half dead due to Modi onslaught. Perhaps PDP forgets the reality that Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections are two dif-ferent propositions and one can-not take it for granted that after winning Lok Sabha elections, the same thing will be repeat-ed in assembly elections. The party should have a look on the past and it will find totally dif-ferent results in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the same area. The way corrupt bureau-crats and turn coats are joining this party, it may prove very harmful for it as these bureau-crats and turn coats have no support and base in the mass-es. They are only joining the party to hide their illegal earn-ings and to save themselves from the clutches of law which is haunting them everywhere. As regards turn coats, they only pollute the atmosphere as these defectors have a stinking past which will even prove harmful for the cleanest most parties. The state of Jammu & Kashmir is unfortunate because it has hardly witnessed free and fair elections and if this time also the elections will be held under the shadows of tainted and peo-ple of bad reputation , these will be as good as those of the rigged ones. It will be call of the time if PDP and BJP in particular discourage this inflow of vested interests in their parties, they will do a good service to their parties and the state of Jammu &Kashmir. It has always been observed that the joining of vested interests in a particular party has never proved bene-ficial and in fact damaged and dented the image of that party.

Saying someone is ugly doesn’t make you any prettier.

New Prime Minister-New

challenges

The commitment of Mr. Narendra Modi, new prime minis-ter, to make India a strong and devel-

oped country is indicative of the fact that he realizes his challenges in terms of pro-viding a govt. with a differ-ence than Congress which he always termed weak and vi-sionless. He has a bright fu-ture but eclipsed with dark-ness which he has to fight as he has not been left with a legacy that someone could take pride of. BJP for the last ten years never allowed par-liament to function smoothly and cashed upon scandal after scandal of UPA as it smelled rat in every decision taken by previous govt. whether it was Coalgate, 2G-spectrum or he-licopter and submarine deal. BJP went on political rampage destroying the image of Con-gress party and UPA. It even did not spare Dr Man Mohan Singh who was considered to be an honest man even by his detractors. It is clear that BJP thought itself to be hon-est and capable to perform better than Congress led UPA govt. BJP in the leadership of Modi succeeded in inflicting a humiliating defeat on UPA in general and Congress in par-ticular by capturing 336 seats with the help of its allies and itself won 286 seats which is even better than all calcula-tions and opinion poll results. Now as the party has come to power, it is time to translate its promises and assurances practically so that people of the country may feel a real difference between the previ-ous and present govt. It is a daunting task, a big challenge and very difficult but not im-possible provided the words are converted into action. The new prime minister has a sev-eral challenges before him and the biggest challenge amongst them is the challenge to win the trust and confidence of Muslim minority which feels jittery and in secure keeping in view the recent statements of some BJP hardliners. The country’s solidarity, integri-ty and sovereignty are dear to every citizen including Muslims who have sacrificed their lives when ever coun-try needed it. They should not feel discriminated, isolated, dejected anymore and for this purpose Mr. Modi should ini-tiate meaningful and effective steps.

Lok Sabha elections- A confusing

political situation

As the elections are nearing the political parties are trying their best to form alliances before the

announcement of dates for Lok Sabha polls. The progressive al-liances led by congress, NDA led by BJP are already in busi-ness and are trying very hard to rope up more and more nation-al and regional parties in their fold. However there are possi-bilities of the formation of third front which has been a dream for Trinmol Congress, CPIM and Samajvadi party. Though Trinmol congress has already announced the pre poll alliance with CPIM but the Samajvadi party has made it clear that it is not interested in pre poll alliance but will join third front after the election results are out. It means that the party is aiming to derive more benefits from third front if the front is able to form the government and if Samajvadi party gets a good number of Lok Sabha seats. On the other hand the NDA has some strong allies in AIADMK Shiv Sena and Sher-omani Akalidal. The UPA led by congress is receiving jolt after jolt and its allies are distancing themselves from Congress which they fear has lost credibility due to certain scandals which sur-faced during the last about four years. When it comes to the real test the indications are that BJP may emerge as single largest party and may form the govern-ment with the help of its allies. However things are not clear as congress is a strong party and can bounce back to cause dents to NDA and can again emerge as a force to recon with. However the coming Lok Sabha election will tell the real story and the voters who have to exercise their democratic right will decide the fate of the national and regional parties. There is no doubt that the regional parties which rep-resent the aspirations of certain communities and regions have weakened the various central governments as they cannot dis-charge their functions according to their plans. The national par-ties who lead the governments become totally dependent on the support of original parties who exploit them and even black mail them when it comes to their own interests. It will be in the best in-terest of the country if one party emerges at least with a thin ma-jority and then gets support from like minded parties.
