The presence o dissolved oxygen in solvents has an adverse eect

on the fow rate stability, noise level, and baseline stability o HPLC

systems. Degassing o mobile phases is an essential element o

reliable system perormance. Degassing has traditionally been

perormed by helium sparging or ultrasonication; both o these

methods are inecient and time consuming, compared to vacuum

degassing.

The Degassex DG-4400 is placed in line between the solvent

reservoir and the pump(s). Solvent is drawn through the unit by

the HPLC pump and is degassed by vacuum ltration o dissolved

gases across a Tefon membrane. The eciency exceeds that

o all other methods tested. The Degassex contains our solvent

input channels, allowing degassing o up to our individual mobile

phases. It can be used with one HPLC system, or with multiple

HPLC systems in the same vicinity, or connected in series with

one system or even greater degassing eciency.

The metal-ree Degassex DG-4400 is one o the most compact

units on the market and exhibits a very small pressure drop across

the inlet and outlet valves. With an integral universal power supply,

the unit will operate rom a line voltage source o 100 to 240 VAC,

50 or 60 Hz, without selecting the line voltage. Degassex is an

excellent choice or eective and reliable in-line degassing o all

your HPLC solvents at a very economical price.
