Stand Against Racism (April 26 - 29)StandAgainstRacism isa signature campaignof YWCAUSA to
buildcommunityamongthosewhowork for racial justiceandtoraise awareness about the negative impact of institutional andstructural racism in our communities. This campaign is one partof the largernationalstrategyto fulfill themissionofeliminatingracism. The campaign was founded by YWCAs Trenton andPrinceton in 2007andadoptedby YWCAUSA in 2015.Watchourwebsiteforspecificevents.
Empowering Young WomenThe LEGO Robotics Club is offered as part of the ASAP after-
school program at Lincoln Elementary School. The six-weekprogram provides fourth- and fifth-grade girls the opportunityto explore computer programming and robotics technology in anurturing,girls-onlyenvironmentundertheguidanceofGettysburgCollegestudents. Ifyourdaughter isnotastudentatLincolnbutsheisinterestedinthisprogram,contactNancyLilleybyMarch15formoreinformation.
STEAM Savvy is an all-girls after-school club for students atGettysburgHighSchool.Theprogramencouragesgirls toexplorescience, technology, engineering, arts andmath. Instructors andmentorsalsoassiststudentswithcollegeapplications,interviewingskills, andother aspects of the college search, including visits toexploreschools’sciencedepartments.

Hydro Power Hour with LoriThisisforactiveandhealthyadultswhowantamediumtohigh
intensity workout for muscle toning with aerobic exercises. Theworkoutwilltakeplaceintheshallowanddeependsofthepool.Theexerciseroutineissettomusic,andallexerciseequipmentwillbeprovided.ThisclassistaughtbyacertifiedUnitedStatesWaterFitnessAssociationinstructor.Tuesdays 8 - 9 p.m.
Deep Aquatics Fitness Training with LindaAmediumtohigh levelworkout indeepwater foradultsofall

This course provides certification inlifeguarding,FirstAid,bloodbornepathogentraining,administrationofemergencyoxygen,EpiPen,asthmainhalerandCPR/AEDfortheProfessionalRescuerfor2years.Tryoutpre-requisitesarepostedonlineattheYWCAwebsiteaquaticstab.

Our25meter swimming isavailable foranygroupor individual to rent. Theswimmingpool isavailable forprivate rentalson thefollowingdaysandtimes:SaturdaysandSundaysfrom1:30to6p.m.
Allrentalsoftheswimmingpoolincludeaminimumoftwolifeguards.Youcandoasharedrentalduringopenswimtimeinwhichhalfthepoolisusedandstillsharedwithourmembers.Thisisonlyanoptionforgroupswithlessthan25people.Thisoptionisavailableonalldays.
Rentingtheswimmingpooldoesnotincludetheuseofour12personwhirlpool.Childrenundertheageof12mustbeaccompaniedbyanadult.Allgroupslargerthan10peoplemustrentthepool.

The Board of Directors of the YWCA Gettysburg & AdamsCounty announces the retirement of Executive Director DebGeeseyonJune30,2019.
PleasejoinusinextendingbestwishestoDebGeesey,whoisretiringfromtheYWCAonJune30.DebhasworkedfortheYWforover30yearsandhasbeentheExecutiveDirectorfor12years.Actually,herassociationwiththeYWspansmorethan50yearsasshewaspartof“YTEENS”injuniorhigh.
DebbeganhercareerattheYWin1988astheCommunityServicesDirectorundertheleadershipofJenniferWeaver.Inthat capacity, Deb created a vast variety of classes open tothecommunity,frombusinessworkshops,artsandcrafts,bustrips,ballroomdancing,bridgeandmore.
In 1993, she stepped into the Road Scholar position andservedinthatrolefor13years.Debsayssheabsolutelylovedthatjob.
ShehasservedastheExecutiveDirectorsince2006.TheYWCAhasgrownimmenselyduringDeb’stimeasED.Theoperatingbudgethasdoubledfrom$2millionto$4million/yeardrivenlargelybyamorethandoublinginchildcareenrollment,largegrowthinrecpassmemberships,allsupportedbyincreasingsponsorshipsthatshehasbeencriticalinobtaining.
Her proudest accomplishment was taking the YWCA fromseriousfinancialdifficultytoitscurrentfiscallysoundstatus.Debinsiststhatshedidnotdoanyofthisaloneandcreditshergreatmanagementteamandallthehard-workingstaffoftheYWCA.
NumerouschangestotheYWCAhaveoccurredduringhertenure.RemainingconstantthroughallofthoseyearshasbeenthemissionoftheYWCA–eliminatingracism,empoweringwomenandpromotingpeace,justice,freedomanddignityforall.Debsaidthismission,aswellasthewonderfulstaffandYWCAmembers,havebeenwhatkeptherherefor30years!
Shewillbegreatlymissedbymembers,colleaguesandtheBoardofDirectorsalike.Wehaveallbenefitedfromherenergeticleadership,organizationandvision.WewillholdacelebrationofDeb’scareeratadateclosertoherretirement–detailstobeannounced.Meanwhile,pleaseknow thatwehavealreadybegun the search foranewExecutiveDirectorandareworkingonensuringasmoothtransition.FeelfreetowishDebahappyretirementthenexttimeyouseeher.
