statement of purpose

S O F PBorn and raised in tamilnadu, i always knew that the perspective through which i saw the world was different.Joining B.arch programme in 2011 was a major transtition, considering my life till then. a whole new world opened before my eyes, teaching me many things that were previously unknown.the various activities asso-ciated with my new role as a student of archiciated with my new role as a student of archi-tecture and the exposure at college led me to face the world like never before. Today, after completing the degree my perspective to-wards architecture has changed to a higher level. Now i see the spaces to live in. I analyse the requirements and think how to transform them into three-dimensional spaces that suits to a very wide range of activities.

knowledge gained through academic proj-ects, competitions and praticical training has shown me the path, the approach and method of handaling real life scenarios. As i step into the world with a completly new confidence, what i aim at is to be a better architect, in all senses. I dream towards career, where spaces are conceived not just as a shelter, but a colare conceived not just as a shelter, but a col-lection of interreleated that never neglects the gift of freedom, nature and always centre into the soul. i believe that the ultimate aim of every architect should be to visualize and design spaces, which caters to the needs of mind, body and spirit.

During my studio four,I have done my rural study, In my part, I have documented the village temple, here i have done detailed drawing of the temple, the temple was constructed in the chetinadu architecure style of tamilnadu.

Rectangular in plan, the temple is surRectangular in plan, the temple is sur-rounded by a high compound wall called as prakara, the temple is oriented towards east. The main entry is through the gate, one cannot miss the prominent figurines of nandhi

The grabhagriha is ap-proached through a set of six pillars, the super struc-ture is made of bricks and plastered with lime

The vimana of grabhagriha is three tiered, the top most tier called kalasha has very detailed minute ornamental works done, The idols in the vimana were made using stacco. the space in between the grabhagriha and the prakara forms the circumbulatory path. most of the elements were made of bricks and cement

By putting together all the needs of textile industry under one space combined green technologies resolving the problem faced in the past.

13“a step forward and no step back”

The textile industry we have designed is a three floor plan. in the initial process of dyeingthe threads are dyed and washed. the stage is followd as cutting, weaving, starching,iron-ing and packing.the go down is placed spreading on both sides of the spaces mentioned in the above stage. the labour entrance and main entrance are placed adjacent to each other at the front. The office is situated near the main-entrance connected with the recep-tion and the waiting area

at the first floor, supervision is done after the first two stages of the textile process and in the storage room the sample pieces are kept. a circular central courtyard is provided in the space where the stage two is processed

cooming to the second floor, one unique feature is that has an exhibition hall, where the final product of the textile from the factory is exhibited and is put out for the market

The factory will accomodate minimum man power of 5000 per day.

In our proposal, main focus is given to ferry station which is a future proposal by Tamil Nadu Government. Ferry Station has been placed right in the end of the site which makes it easy accessible for the users to get it from the transit hub (which is being one transportation hub in Chintadirpet), it covers area of 4 acres in which 20% in built space. It is well connected with all other activities surrounding.

EnhancementEnhancement of the connectivity results in attracting more people to the site which in hand increase the revenue of the Gov-ernment. One main problem getting solved is the traffic congestion as it a new mode of transportation. Back in history this par-ticular river is used for navigation and now been polluted nobody is willing to stand next to it, as it gets cleared this proposal

An art exhibition is traditionally the space in which art objects (in the most general sense) meet an audience. The exhibit is universally understood to be for some temporary period unless, as is rarely true, it is stated to be a "permanent exhibition". In American English, they may be called "exhibit", "exposition" (the French word) or "show". In UK English, they are always called "exhibi-tions" or "shows", and an individual item in the show is an "exhibit".

Such expositions may present pictures, drawings, video, sound, installation, performance, interac-tive art, new media art or sculptures by individual artists, groups of artists or collections of a spe-cific form of art.

At first,Let us look into the” left wing” in detail. The corridor, to start with, is raised to 30centi-meters(3 steps),and provides access ,to the “feathers “of the wing. These, appear to be, “strip” like spaces and the first three are created for” exhibition galleries”.Access to each room, is by means of raising another level by 3 steps. The next strip is an “art gallery”.Then, follows ,the“pith model displaying gallery”.The last room of this wing, is the” information center “,which is made up of books .Similar to a library, but smaller in size. Finally, there are re-strooms.This leads to the end of the corridor, where there are another set of stairs, that leads you down into a seating area.
