Jo-gak-bo is a traditional Korean textile art. Korean people made Jogakbo with remnants of cloth becauseit was really hard work to weave a cloth, and even bits of fabric were not to go waste. The tradition of Jogakbo making still lives on today. Although the materials of Jogakbo are leftovers, it shows remarkableartistry and great harmony.

I want my portfolio to be a Jogakbo of works inspired by and based on my own experiences.

When I started to design ‘Bookhanger’, I was inspired by my highschoolexperience. Normally Korean highschool students spend more than12 hours in their school, but their spaces (desks) are rather cramped.

At the time, my friends and I also had a lot of books for study. Sometimes the books got torn and stained because we put them on the floor. We used to mutter about desks which were too cramped to store all our books.

I drink a soft drink sometimes and I look at the reverse side toobserve the nutrition fact label. However, it is often not clear howmuch sugar and other additives are in the drink with the numbers, therefore I just drink it.

This experience is the start of my idea. I think showing the amountof sugar in a drink helps people especially the young to make abetter choice.

When people get a little cut , they usually apply oinmentto the cut. However, it can be stings annoyingly when the oinment isapplied on the injury. And it also involves inconveniences suchas washing hands and getting sterile cotton swabs to prevent any potential infection.

However, you can do without all these with Flat Nozzle.

Flatnozzle

Page 17: Yujeong kang portfolio2015

Normal ointment tube cannot provide full coverage at one application

The mouth of a normal ointment tube is round-shaped, which makes it hard to control the amount of the ointment you get when you press the tube.

Morever, i t usual ly comes out too th ick and short to cover the whole area of injury.

Flat Nozzle provides thin and full coverage

Flat Nozzle makes the ointment spread thinly over the whole area. It also makes it easier to adjust the quantity of the medcine.

Quick and Easy without that annoying stinging!

Bees are the keystone species of ecosystem. However, they are endangeredby various reasons like viruses, agricultural pestcides and adrupt climate shift. For its countermeasure, an urban bee keeping receives attention because urbanareas have good conditions for bees.
