e prayer that I am sending today as I write this article is “O, Lord, please help our wonderful children to hear the Gospel clearly and re-spond to the Holy Spirit’s convic-tion.” Over the past few weeks our children have had the opportu-nity to hear the Gospel presention many times over. Dr. Bob Pitman has shared with them in Sunday School and in church on May 22, and we are having Vacation Bible School June 6-10. As you read this, will you commit to praying that our precious children will recognize that they need forgive-ness and to make Jesus Christ boss of their lives? We all realize that God’s perfect plan for all of us is to come to Him when we are young and to live for Him the entirety of our lives.

As you read this, the Gospel seed will have already been sown by Dr. Pitman, but Vacation Bible School will be starting next week. Let’s pray this together, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (Jeremi-ah 33:3).

Proud to be your pastor!

Ahh, June! Summer break for our kids has nally come. Vacation is on the books. Gardens are in full growth mode. Hopefully, you either have a pool or know someone who has a pool. June becomes a very busy time around the church. With Vacation Bible School and our youth camp the same week, this place will be a mad-house. Kidz Kamp is not far to fol-low. e Southern Baptist Conven-tion will be held in St. Louis, and we will elect a new president of the SBC. e summer break months are in full swing. With summer brings vacation and times where you will miss church. I want to encourage you to make sure that when you are here, you are here! In church life, we see it over and over again. Folks drop out of the habit of being in church regularly during the summer and then have a hard time get-ting back in to the routine come fall. Please make the commitment to be in worship and Sunday School each week. We need you to be here, and you need to be worshipping the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Summer is also a great time to think about where you can get more plugged in at FBC. We need you in the nurs-ery, youth ministry, and choir. Check out ways to get more involved and take time to think about where the best place for you to serve the body of Christ is.

Also, I want to make you aware of a great opportunity we have at FBC. On Sunday, June 5, we will be hosting the youth choir from Meadow Brook Bap-tist Church in Birminghame, Alabama. ey will be wrapping up a trip to St. Louis and heading back home but will be spending the night in Milan and leading us in worship during our Sun-day morning worship service. It is go-ing to be a great morning, and I hope you plan to be here. If you would be in-terested in hosting a couple of students in your house on Saturday night, please contact me or Anita at the church o ce and sign up. ank you for your help. Have a wonderu and worshipful June!

Happy Father’s DayJune 19

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you

walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the

doorposts of your house and on your gates.
